Programs and Services Breaktime-Mealtime™ Provides grocery store vouchers to purchase food during school breaks for children living in poverty and enrolled in the federal free and reduced-price lunch program.
Clothes-4-Kids™ Distributes gift cards to students to select new back-to-school clothing from local merchants.
Thrift Culture Allows families to shop for high-quality used clothing for school and work at no cost.
Grads-On-Track™ Grants credit recovery scholarships to high school students.
Educational Grants Awards college scholarships that are renewable for four years.
Emergency Assistance Assists families with rent, including eviction prevention and move-in costs. Basic needs like food and household necessities are also provided.
Holiday Adopt-A-Family™ Matches families in need with caring community sponsors who provide food and gifts for the holidays.

Impact 2,051 Kids received food during school breaks, preventing hunger and providing nourishment.
487 Students received new back-to-school clothing so they could feel confident and self-assured like their peers.
112 Families received Thrift Culture vouchers so they could shop for much-needed clothing items.
183 High school students received summer school scholarships for 304 classes so they could stay on track to graduate with their peers.
26 College students received scholarships to achieve a pathway to success.
202 Children from 92 families received rent assistance to prevent homelessness.
669 Children from 285 families received food and gifts, making their holiday wishes come true.

Highlights Here’s a look at some of the brightest moments and biggest events from the past year.
Educational Grants Thanks to the generous investment of donors like you, this year Bellevue LifeSpring awarded 26 deserving students with college scholarships to pursue their higher education. Educational Grants are four-year renewable college scholarships for graduates of the Bellevue School District. These students have drive and determination, and work hard to rise above their circumstances. With the expensive price tag of higher education, nothing is more important than financial aid to a student. Emily, an Educational Grants recipient, shared with us, “This scholarship means more than just money to me. This scholarship signifies that I have a community behind me rooting for my success in life.”

Uncork the Night: A Celebration of Wine & Giving Guests wined, dined and made a HUGE difference at the 15th annual Uncork the Night, raising $525,683 to support Bellevue children and their families. Event guests heard from Alejandra, a student who was a recipent of multiple programs - including Breaktime-Mealtime and Educational Grants. Alejandra shared, “I want to say thank you to Bellevue LifeSpring for all of the resources that they have provided for me and my family. They have helped me in many immeasurable ways. Thank you for making my possibilities endless.” Your shared belief in our mission and vision is helping students like Alejandra break the cycle of poverty and reach their fullest potential.

Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon Our community stepped up and made a serious impact at the 20th annual Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon, raising $407,600 to benefit Bellevue children. This incredible afternoon brought together friends, neighbors and colleagues to learn about the needs in our community and provide support to the 3,600 Bellevue children and their families living in poverty. Attendees got the chance to hear from Megan, a dedicated mother and a recipient of Bellevue LIfeSpring’s emergency rental assistance and food programs. Megan shared, “Because of your support my children are thriving.”

Breaktime - Mealtime ™ Our Breaktime-Mealtime program provided food vouchers to over 2,000 children who rely on the free and reduced-price meal program for nutrition. This year marked the first full year that grocery store food vouchers were distributed to families in place of boxes of food. Vouchers successfully gave families the dignity of choice to purchase food that fits their household culture and dietary needs. One school counselor shared the impact of the program for families: “Our school has over 75 families enrolled in Breaktime-Mealtime. As the Family Services Specialist, I value and appreciate the program very much. This program not only provides food but also provides the assurance of possible stability for struggling families.”

Circle Members Our circle members are the heart of Bellevue LifeSpring and are commited to making a difference for their neighbors in need. From hosting fundraisers to volunteering their time, circle members are vital ambassadors for Bellevue kids. This year, circle members generously raised nearly $60,000 to support Bellevue LifeSpring programs.
Community Partners Bellevue LifeSpring is fortunate to have the support of a diverse array of exceptional corporate and community-based groups who give their time and invest in our mission. Through volunteerism, grantmaking or advocacy, our community partners represent the impact of shared passion and collaboration.
Volunteers Volunteers donated more than 20,000 hours to support Bellevue LifeSpring and Thrift Culture last year. Whether they’re packing snacks for students, merchandising Thrift Culture windows, sorting donations or supporting events, volunteers provide the energy and enthusiasm to make our mission possible.
