OWNER’S NOTE

After 25 years, I still wake up every day feeling incredibly blessed to call Jackson Hole home. Is it our magnificent mountain range, January’s brilliant blue-bird skies, or the hot days and cool nights that come with August’s arrival? Perhaps it’s our slower pace, crisp, alpine air, and the friendly smiles of visitors and neighbors alike that let us know we are in a very special place.

When I reflect on Belle Cose and how this once little store has evolved and changed over the years into hosting trunk shows at the Four Seasons Santa Fe, five Jackson Hole locations and a new store in Vero Beach, Florida, it makes me smile... And think of our incredible team, seeing clients who have become so dear, and the new faces we meet every day. I am constantly energized by all who make up our extended family, and this beautiful, majestic place we call home is a source of constant inspiration.

As Jackson evolves, so do we - our store and catalog being a perfect reflection of this. This year, we have much to celebrate; both returning designers and those making their Jackson debut, an exciting decision to combine our boutiques (including Goodie 2 Shoes) under one Belle Cose brand, a shiny new website, and making a splash into the world of social media. With Jackson Hole honored to be named THE destination to enjoy the epic 2017 Solar Eclipse, we thought, why not highlight all that is exciting and beloved in Jackson as well? We hope adding features like, “Belle Cose’s Little Black Book,” a 2017 Pantone color inspired, “Green with Envy,” piece, and a “Say I Do,” wedding registry guide, among other editorials, will allow us to further inspire you to live life beautifully.

Deeply touched by her experience volunteering in Africa, Ashley Pittman was inspired to create a sustainable company that would provide employment and business training to local artisans. Today, the designer employs over 75 artisans in Kenya, providing them with fair wages, expansion opportunities, and business development training. The collection beautifully reinterprets the power and simplicity expressed in centuries-old African jewelry. Each piece is entirely handcrafted in Kenya featuring re-purposed Ankole cow horn, semiprecious gemstones, bronze and materials indigenous to East Africa.

After falling under the spell of “The Island of the Gods” while traveling in Southeast Asia, designer Carolyn Tyler made Indonesia her permanent home. The Balinese culture, with its gracious people and rich spiritual traditions, are visibly influential as she performs the alchemy of turning her dreams into gold. Carolyn’s designs are executed with incredible skill and patience by Balinese master goldsmiths, whose forefathers worked as court artisans for Javanese royalty and Hindu temple priests. Using antique goldsmithing techniques such as granulation, filigree, and repousse, she creates pieces in 18 to 24-karat gold with unusual luster that are evocative of the fabled buried treasures of the Golden Age.

Theresa Harper Bruno, the designer behind Jordan Alexander, is a Juilliard trained musician, an educator, a philanthropist, and a visionary who creates jewelry to represent her own elegant yet free-spirited style. From exhibiting at the Museo Nacional de Mexico, Mexico City, to the arms of iconic accessory style-maven, Iris Apfel, Masha Archer has a history as colorful as her vibrant jewelry. Creating her handmade pieces from collected beads, coins, and stones from around the globe, it isn’t coincidental that the Ukrainian daughter of a sculptor and painter chose a life dedicated to the decorative arts. The designer has exhibited at the Smithsonian, Arizona Fine Arts Museum in Tucson, and the Taos Museum of Fine Art in New Mexico, among others.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Pamela Froman settled in Paris after graduating from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology.
