We would like to welcome you to our 28th Annual Signature Series Bull Sale. 2023 was definitely an interesting and challenging year in our part of southeastern Alberta. The ongoing dry conditions have proven our long standing commitment to raising, moderate, easy fleshing genetics that can survive any environment.

This set of bulls have been developed on the hard grass with nothing else than their mother’s milk. They came off dryland crops in late September and started on a high forage ration

November 1. We fed for a 2.75 lbs/day gain and feel they have achieved an excellent body condition and are ready to breed and look good doing it.

As you look through the catalog you will see some exciting new sire groups that we are very proud of. From sure fire heifer bulls to performance oriented sires, the offering in every breed is consistent and carry impressive phenotype, structure & foot quality.

All bulls will be videoed ahead of the sale. Videos will be available on-line. All of the bulls will be penned at Lazy MC for viewing prior to the sale. Rather than stressing the bulls and the crew, the auction will be conducted using large screen videos of each bull. This will also give bidders the opportunity to view reference animals at the same time.

bull warranty program

Lazy MC Angus guarantees to sell you a bull that is structurally sound and has passed a semen test done by a licensed veterinarian. Should any Lazy MC Angus bull fail to be a satisfactory breeder, unable to physically service a cow or heifer, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value. Should this not be possible, an adjustment will be made to reflect the value of the bull in question or a credit will be given towards the purchase of another bull. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, however we will not provide replacement or adjustment for physically injured or mismanaged bulls. We stress the importance of the Lazy MC Breeding Season Warranty. Our warranty program is presented in language you can understand. While under warranty, your bull is covered for injury, sickness or death. We will service your needs with another bull or credit to next year’s sale. Should you have any problems with a bull, contact Lazy MC Angus directly at (403) 793-1656. We require your veterinarian to complete a report and email it to Lazy MC Angus. We will work with you to make sure your cows get serviced and you are satisfied with your purchase. We have back-up bulls set aside for customers. Lazy MC Angus Breeding Season Warranty has been developed to protect your purchase during the most critical, high-risk time of a bull’s life; the breeding season. We offer the following options which are the buyer’s responsibility to purchase at the time of settlement:

Coverage - During Breeding Season:

In case of loss, Lazy MC Angus will not be responsible for anything over and above the purchase price of the bull.

Option 1 & 2 - Cover 100% of purchase price less salvage value when possible.

Option 3 - Extended season, covers the animal during and after breeding season. We will cover 80% of the original value, less salvage when possible.

Welcome to the Signature Series Bull Sale. Some of you may not know the name behind the Triple Star prefix, that’s me, Cayley Peltzer.

I would like to first thank Clint, Laurie and the rest of the Lazy MC Cattle Co. crew for feeding, picturing, testing and allowing me to consign the bulls in the sale for the last 10 years. Clint sold me my first purebred angus cow many years ago and you could say that he was an influential part of introducing me to the purebred industry. I remember getting off the bus from school with Laurie to wash show cattle in the fall and was luckily enough to tag along to shows with the Lazy MC crew for many years. Since then I have slowly built my cow herd to around 40 purebred and commercial momma cows that I am grateful to run alongside my parents. I have selected top females from elite herds and also being lucky enough to walk 5T Powerchip in the herd the last 3 years.

Growing the herd slowly with quality numbers, we have always strived to add attractive females with high maternal traits that allows the cows do what they are meant to do. We want our females to be efficient and low maintenance so the calves are a testament to the productivity we’ve built into our herd. At Triple Star, we have chosen proven sires based on past production to eliminate the guess work. Together, we combine genetics that we feel creates performance with the commercial producer in mind.

And, Dad always says ‘It doesn’t cost any more to feed a good one.’

I want to take this opportunity to also thank my family. Being in a different country and trying to raise quality cattle isn’t the easiest. My dad, Robert, has been my ‘Herd Manager’ for the last few years. From calving out the purebreds in the colder months, to making sure everyone is processed and out to pasture, looking for the newest herdsire, to AI-ing and turning out bulls. I would not have any calves on the ground if it was not for him. Thank you to my mom, Nikki, for helping out with night checks, moving pairs and making tags. Thank you to my brothers, Jaxson and Jordan for helping process cows and calves at branding, weaning and preg checking time and also holding down the fort so Mom and Dad can get away for a few weekends out of the year. Thank you to ‘The American’, Austin, he has supported my love for the angus cow and is always bringing a new perspective as we build this herd and start a herd together! Triple Star Livestock is 100% a family affair!

Geronimo 180G is a full brother to our famed breed legend ‘ Redman ‘. And he has not disappointed. Truly a sure fire calving ease sire, with the ability to add muscle shape & fleshing ability. The sons on offer are excellent heifer bull prospects, with good performance, scrotal size and excellent structure. They will offer the same maternal strength as the long lasting Redman daughters.

Rockefeller has sired exactly as we had hoped after we purchased him from Dahlke Red Angus as their high selling bull in 2021. Rockefeller progeny are thick made with good carcass traits, excellent feet and above average scrotal circumference.
