Saint Robert Bellarmine Award

2024 Recipients

Fred and Paula A’71 Bevegni

Tonight, we recognize Fred and Paula A’71 Bevegni for their outstanding service and commitment to Bellarmine and the community.

With a deep connection to Bellarmine, Paula, a graduate of Aquinas Academy, and Fred, a graduate of Fife High School and Gonzaga University, have been unwavering in their support of the school and numerous local organizations.

As dedicated parents, the Bevegnis have three sons, Robert B’00, Joey B’03, and Andrew B’08, all of whom attended Bellarmine. Fred, a former two-term member of the Board of Directors, continues to serve on the Advancement Committee, while Paula actively participated in Philomathea and PRIDE (now the Bellarmine Gala) during her sons' time at Bellarmine. Additionally, she has been instrumental in building connections and organizing reunions for her Aquinas Class of 1971, as well as coordinating tri-school reunions for Aquinas, Bellarmine, and St. Leo’s.

Saint Robert Bellarmine Award

“I love the Bevegnis, who are both generous in time given, and in the spirit by which they share their gifts. They are a wonderful choice for this year’s St. Robert Bellarmine award,” says Chris Gavin, former Bellarmine Principal .

Fred and Paula’s commitment to Catholic education extends far beyond Bellarmine, as they have generously supported other Catholic institutions. As esteemed owners of Marine View Beverages for many years, the Bevegnis have been instrumental in supporting several local organizations. Their dedication and community service perfectly align with the Bellarmine philosophy and goals of being servant leaders and people for others.

The Saint Robert Bellarmine Award is the school’s highest honor. It is awarded annually to a person(s) of distinction who has served the Church and the broader community in an outstanding way reflective of the philosophy and goals of Bellarmine.

11. Payments will be processed on Monday, March 25, 2024, using the credit card information in Bellarmine’s Greater Giving software program. If you prefer to pay with cash, check, stock, or a Donor-Advised Fund, you must contact a Bellarmine staff member prior to the auction closing. All bids are in U.S. dollars. Only Fund-a-Need gifts with no tangible benefit to the donor can be paid for with a Donor-Advised Fund.

12. No items will be released from item pick-up without a “paid” receipt. A “paid” receipt will be given at checkout following payment in full. Envelopes containing gift certificates should be checked carefully before leaving the auction.

13. All items must be removed from Bellarmine on the evening of the auction. Transportation of auction items is the responsibility of the purchaser. Items too large to take with you on auction night will be transported to Bellarmine’s Advancement Office.

14. Bellarmine has endeavored to catalog and describe the property correctly, but all property is sold “as-is” and Bellarmine neither warrants nor represents and in no way shall be responsible for the correctness of description, authenticity, authorship, provenance, or condition of the property.

Auction Rules

16. No statements contained in the catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

17. The values listed are estimates only and are provided by the donors of the auction items. Bellarmine reserves the right to withdraw any item prior to the start of the bidding for such item. Bellarmine encourages all donors to consult IRS Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant or attorney concerning the tax deductibility of gifts to this event.

18. Bellarmine assumes no responsibility for any item purchased and either re-sold or re-donated to another event. Items may not be re-sold at public sales.

19. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising directly or indirectly from the auction, Bellarmine, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the event organizers, sponsors and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

20. All certificates have no cash value. If lost or stolen, certificates cannot be replaced.

21. Any problems or concerns should be directed to Amy Conner (connera@bellarmineprep.org or 253-879-9771).

Auction Rules

Live Auction

1. All items included in the Live Auction will be bid by raising your bidder card so it can be seen and called out by the auctioneer. Please hold your bid card so it can be easily seen.

2. The highest bid will be recognized by the auctioneer. A bid number called out binds the bidder to the purchase of that auction item should their number be the final bid.

3. The auctioneer is the final judge regarding who is the successful bidder.

4. Winning bidders for the Live Auction must sign a 2024 Bellarmine Gala bidder form. At that time, they should verify that the bid number, amount, and item descriptions are correct. A signature constitutes a legal contract to buy.

5. Should a bidder refuse to sign the bidder form, the item will be returned to the auctioneer and re-sold immediately.

Mobile Bidding

1. All bidding for the silent and super silent items will be conducted electronically through mobile bidding.

2. If a subsequent bid is disqualified or otherwise stricken for any reason, the last and highest bid at the auction item closing time will be deemed the successful bidder.
