Page 1

Thank you for joining us.

Our 2025 Bellarmine Gala will be a night to remember.

We believe in the life-changing power of education.

We graduate young men and women of competence, compassion, and conscience – committed to leadership and service – through dedication to academic excellence and the development of the whole person.

We help shape futures, build community, and carry forward a legacy of opportunity.

Tonight, we share the warmth and spark of this special evening, gathering in community to support Tuition Assistance as we raise our paddles to say, “Count me in,” and Ignite Futures!

SAINT ROBERT BELLARMINE AWARD

TIM PAVOLKA B’76

Tonight, we are honored to present Tim Pavolka B’76 with the Saint Robert Bellarmine Award for his outstanding service and commitment to Bellarmine and the community.

Tim’s deep relationship with Bellarmine spans decades. A proud graduate of Bellarmine’s Class of 1976, Tim and his wife Patti are parents to three alumni, Matt B'05, David B'08, and John B'13. His significant impact on the school includes service as a former chair of the Bellarmine Board of Directors, involvement in numerous committees - including the 2012 President Search Committee, and active leadership roles in several strategic fundraising campaigns. Before joining the Board, Tim served on the Facilities Committee and played a vital part in the campaigns to build the St. Ignatius Loyola Center and Connelly Campus Center, as well as the installation of new bleachers and turf on Memorial Field.

SAINT ROBERT BELLARMINE AWARD

Tim’s commitment to service is evident in everything he does at Bellarmine. Whether volunteering for alumni phonathons, leading work parties to beautify the campus grounds, or helping clean up after events, Tim is always eager to serve. Tim currently serves as an Associate Director on the Alumni Committee.

His commitment to Catholic education extends well beyond Bellarmine; Tim generously supports other institutions and was most recently involved in launching the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Seattle.

Bellarmine’s Board Chair, Gavin O’Brien, shared his thoughts: “Tim embodies the essence of a 'Grad at Grad.' His extraordinary devotion to Bellarmine has been inspiring over the years. His vision and leadership have been instrumental in shaping Bellarmine into the exceptional college preparatory school it is today, paving the way for its success as it moves into its next century.”

Tim, our deep thanks for your long-standing legacy of generosity and support of Bellarmine.

The Saint Robert Bellarmine Award is the school’s highest honor. It is awarded annually to a person(s) of distinction who has served the Church and the broader community in an outstanding way reflective of the philosophy and goals of Bellarmine.

1. All sales are final; there will be no exchanges, refunds, or extensions except where specified.

2. All items are non-transferable and may not be re-sold.

3. Unless otherwise noted, all items and services must be used within one year of March 1, 2025. Please respect all the restrictions set out by the item donors and carefully read all certificates, vouchers, and corresponding materials.

4. Unless otherwise noted, Bellarmine assumes no responsibility for travel arrangements, experiences, and non-Bellarmine-hosted events. All arrangements and coordination of items (air, hotel, catering, entertainment, etc.) must be made by the item buyer and only with the contact person designated on the donation certificate or documentation. All dinners are for the number of guests stated and exclude tax, gratuity, and alcohol unless otherwise noted.

5. All hotel/resort reservations are based on availability unless the certificate states a specific date.

6. Airline tickets in travel packages are for main cabin unless otherwise noted. No refunds will be allowed for canceled tickets. Once ticketed, route and name changes are not allowed.

7. Items depicted in the slide presentation, catalog and bidding site are for illustrative purposes only.

8. All wine and spirits will be sold in Washington, and title passes to the purchaser in Washington. Bellarmine Preparatory School makes no representation as to the purchaser’s rights to import wine and spirits into any state. Wine and spirits may be sold and delivered only to persons at least 21 years old.

9. For celebrity or sports memorabilia, Bellarmine Preparatory School neither warrants nor represents, and in no event shall be responsible for, the authenticity, genuineness, or condition of any item.

10. Payments will be processed on Monday, March 3, 2025, using the credit card information in Bellarmine’s Greater Giving software program. All bids are in U.S. dollars. If paying by cash, check, stock, or a Donor-Advised Fund, you must contact a Bellarmine staff member before the auction closing. Only Fund-a-Need gifts with no tangible benefit to the donor can be paid with a DonorAdvised Fund.

AUCTION RULES

11. No items will be released from item pick-up without a “paid” receipt, which will be provided at checkout following payment in full. Envelopes containing gift certificates should be checked carefully before leaving.

12. All items must be removed from Bellarmine on the evening of the auction. Items too large to take on auction night may be picked up from Bellarmine’s Advancement Office beginning at 9 am on Monday, March 3. The winning bidder must email oconnellk@bellarmineprep.org or call 253-879-9771 to coordinate a pickup time.

13. Bellarmine has endeavored to catalog and describe the property correctly, but all property is sold “as is.” No statements contained in the catalog, bidding site, or made verbally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

14. The values listed are estimates only and are provided by the donors of the auction items. Bellarmine reserves the right to withdraw any item prior to the start of the bidding for such item. Bellarmine encourages all donors to consult IRS Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant or attorney concerning the tax deductibility of gifts to this event.

15. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising directly or indirectly from the auction, Bellarmine, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

16. All certificates have no cash value. If lost or stolen, certificates cannot be replaced.

Live Auction

1. The auctioneer will recognize the highest bid. A bid number called out binds the bidder to the purchase of that auction item if their number is the final bid.

2. The auctioneer is the final judge regarding who the successful bidder is.

3. Winning bidders for the Live Auction must sign a 2025 Bellarmine Gala bidder form. They should verify that the bid number, amount, and item descriptions are correct at that time. A signature constitutes a legal contract to buy.

4. Should a bidder refuse to sign the bidder form, the item will be returned to the auctioneer and re-sold immediately.
