Hello, my name is Isabella Chavez. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design with a concentration in Pre-Architecture from the University of New Haven. Over time I have developed proficiency in a variety of software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, Enscape, Procreate, and various Microsoft applications.
My experience working at a senior living community and individuals with disabilities has taught me how to address their unique needs. My creative approach merges creativity with practicality, focusing on designing spaces that are not only visually attractive but also functional and accessible for everyone. I am dedicated to sustainable design practices, prioritizing eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient solutions, all while keeping up with modern trends. Additionally, I am mindful of color theory and biophilic design attributes to enhance the well-being of those who will use the space.
Fall semester of my senior year I had the opportunity to study abroad in Prato, Italy at the University of New Haven Tuscany campus. This opportunity allowed me to gain insight on the differences in architecture between Italy and the United States. Furthermore, I learned about cultures around the world and it has broadened my perspective on design. Viewing a variety of diverse backgrounds and how individuals will better adapt to them. As a designer I hope to ensure every space accommodates for all needs and has a positive impact on people’s lives. Other than designing inclusive spaces and making them functional for all users, I hope to better solve problem solutions and include biophilic attributes and advanced technology to involve a space with innovative design solutions creating overall appealing results.

Tesoro Woods in Boston not only supports local sourcing, reducing carbon footprint associated with transportation, but also holds several third-party certifications including Floorscore, U.S. Green building council membership, Leed certification. The SCS certification meets the VOC emissions requirements of the California Section 01350 standard. Wood flooring helps with acoustical barriers in the space as well as naturalness creating warmth to the space.

Landor Offices
San Diego, California Revit and Enscape
The new Landor facility, located in Pacific Beach, San Diego, features a design inspired by postmodernism. The designer emphasized the creation of various activity rooms to offer employees a range of workspace options, allowing them to choose the environment that best suits their needs. These workspaces include bar seating, booth seating, private or collaborative work spaces and private pods. Acoustical barriers and biophilic elements are used effectively to divide work spaces, supporting both loud and quiet zones. This setup fosters a sense of freedom and trust, enabling employees to select their ideal workspace. As a result, there has been an increase in productivity and collaboration among staff.

Sustainability
The newly constructed building prioritizes sustainability, with a strong emphasis on promoting recycling throughout the facility. Given the dry, arid climate of the locations, natural ventilation has been incorporated to enhance energy efficiency, reduce costs, improve indoor air quality, and contribute to overall sustainability. Features such as ventilation shafts and exterior overhangs help regulate temperature and moisture, improving air circulation and quality while lowering carbon emissions. Additionally, the use of energy efficient fixtures, appliances, and water saving technologies further supports the building’s commitment to sustainability.

Acoustical Barriers
MMT Acoustix developed a sound barrier designed for use within the walls of structures like nightclubs and noisy atmospheres. Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) is a high- density vinyl membrane engineered to block and isolate low, medium, and high frequencies. Sound Blanket MLV is flexible and easy to install on floors, walls, and ceilings, making it an ideal choice for sound isolation. When combined with a sound absorber, such as sound Insulation pad, sound blanket provides complete soundproofing.
Armstrong world industries offers INVISACOUSTICS panels with a .95 NRC sound absorption rating, providing a sleek concrete look for the bars ceiling.
