Hi, my name is Isabella Chavez. I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University Of New Haven studying interior design with a concentration in pre architecture. I’m a hardworking student ready to apply my skills and knowledge in the workplace and seeking internship opportunities to enrich my career experience and job skills. I consider myself to be a creative and detail oriented individual when working on my projects. In the workplace im highly organized with strict adherence to deadlines, critical thinking and working well under pressure. Pediatric Office Bermuda The rocky beaches of Bermuda provide a natural playground to explore. Kids will experience the sensory and visual representation of the island by hanging vines and leaves as well as rock formations. Those elements will create focal points and will be used as a creative tool for wayfinding to get kids to reach their destination in a fun manner.

The visual connection with nature will be shown through dynamic and diffuse light as well as the presence of water throughout the office. The soothing sounds of the water in the waiting room will calm the nerves of those patiently waiting and give a unique interactive element for the kids to be distracted.

Within healthcare facilites many principles of biophilic attributes can help many in various different ways. Its known to improve patient outcomes and reduce staff stress. When desiginign the detail, color scheme, lighting and materials chosen for the project are all important elements that can affect the environment . Studies show that specific colors and elements can help the health of many is blue and green which is known to relax and calm which is the reasonsing for it to be included in the waiting room throught the presence of water and the vines as well as plants. The consistecy of biophilic elemements are throughout the pediatric facility in hope to heal and improve helath and wellness of parents, children and staff that visit the facility.

As for furniture i decided on a very nuetral color schemes. The waiting room as well as the exam rooms are very bright and I wanted to nuetralize the color throughout the facility. The common color throughout the facility is blue from the waterfall to the media scrren and it follows you to the exam rooms. The five biophilic attribute sources that have been sleected were presennce of water, dynamic and diffuse light (2), visual connection with nature and complexity and order.

For this assigent we had to choose a location of your choice to build a padiatric office. The Reason I chose Bermuda is because I have a memorable experience visiting Bermuda. I loved swimming in the clear water swimming between rock features with colorful fish beneath me. When visiting the city of hamlton i loved how cute and bright the town was. Since I took a cruise to visit the island we took a ferry from the pier to the city which i believed was the perfect location for all families to access. The office is a walk down the road but there are many bnusesand taxis available and theres parking for those who live closer.

The floor plan did change towards the end of the project to work better with prior construction and plumbing.

The main entrance got moved to where the escape hatch is currently and the waiting room and consulting offices swapped loactions. The exam rooms reamined where they are which but for privacy porposes have very high windows for sunlight to still come in. Where the workroom is located on this floor plan is now an ada bathroom for all to use from easy access from the exam romsn. The storage closet is also across the exam rooms and is very narrow for organized storage unit and access from the nursing station and exam rooms if needed. I placed the nursing station and bussiness office as an open layout office space in the center between the consulting offices where the doctors are to the exam rooms which all clients can pass on their way in and out. Past the nursing stations many will pass if needed to consult with the doctors in an office environment, other than that manly staff were to pass. At the end of the hall they also have access to another private ada bathroom and escape hatch along side the staircase. As of location the exam rooms are facing the street which works along side the high windows simply for privacy and sunlight. The waiting room and recipion desk receives the strongest most desirable sun.

Criteria Matrix Concept Statement

Floor Plan

Site Plan: Bermuda is a self governing British overseas territory in the Western North Atlantic Ocean. The island of Bermuda is 21 square miles of hills and low hills seperated by fertile depressions. Bermuda is known for its clear blue water, pink sand and tropical weather. The island only consists of very few small ponds other than the ocean. Pediatric office clients would most likely visit a place where you have easy access from the downtown city of Hamilton and a beutiful view of the ocean. Bermudas weather consists of winter, spring, and autumn to reach high humidity and heat waves from late May to October. In the winter Bermuda gets as low as 59-63* F and high as 70-72*F. In the summer the highest temperature has been 93*F but the overall ranges from 73-86*F. The South sun is the most strongest and desirable which also comes with the summer winds.

Floor plan and elvations: The Pediatric facility holds many elemets of biophilic attributes to help improve the wellness of all. I uncluded the presence of water which studies show help reduce stress, lower heart rate and increases tranquility, Cognitive resources are also affeected by memeory and concentration improvemwnts by the presence of water. My water presence is shown trhough the fish tank in the reception desk as well as the eye catching waterfall in the corner as you walk into the office. The waterfall also includes hanging vines which is another biophlic element to reduce stress.

To resemble the dynamic and diffuse light throughout the office is shown consistintly shown through my skylights and unique seaglass animals on the windows for the children to touch and play with. This will be resembled through sunlight, natural light and warm light. its known to help many increase positive circadian system functioning and increased visual comfort in the space. The unique and clean way for warm light to enter the space is also a strong attribute to heal those. Another element was complexity and order. In the exam rooms as well as decoration in the consulting offices many favor complexity and order. The medical rooms will help positively impact perceptual and physiologcal stressresponses and observed view prefrences. The attribute is the geology and landscape of the bermudiana flower which is known as the national flower of bermuda.

This beutiful purple Bermudiana is also the inspiration for the pediatric office name and helps ground many to their location.

The View The View and The Outcove were both completed in my Autocad course. The View was designed to be a oceanfront hotel seeking to accommodate for suits, double and single rooms. The Outcove is a restaurant and bar with a design layout to separate zones between bar and booth seating.

LandorLandor FamilyProject Family of Four. The mother works from home as a full-time fitness influencer and takes care of the kids and the house. The Father works irregularly house as a nurse.

They live with their two kids on the second floor of this downtown apartment in Branford CT.

Concept Statement Concept Statement

It has been requested that an industrial concept be used for the Landor project. This open-concept layout blends industrial and cozy. Based on the apartment layout, we designed a two-and-a-half-bath with three bedrooms, an office, and an entertainment space consisting of a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The goal is to create a space that combines an industrialized modern theme with an open concept that is filled with as much detail and comfort as possible.

To accomplish this goal we have incorporated a dark color palette with an exposed industrial feel with ductwork and pipes on the ceilings.
