BIOGRAPHY

Belinda Wilson, a Melbourne-based artist, specialises in crafting landscapes that explore the dynamic interplay between the external environment and the internal human landscape. Deeply concerned by the psychological response and emotional welfare associated with Australia’s unrivaled backdrop and its primitive artistry, her works resonate with audiences in a manner void of limitations or constraints.

Three decades after concluding a Bachelor of Fine Art, she completed a Master in Fine Art (Research) at RMIT University, her work experienced evolutionary growth that not only continues to persist but periodically adapts to the ongoing social discourse and the ever-changing conditions associated with climate change and the adaptation to extreme weather conditions.

Belinda’s artistic endeavors have garnered recognition on both national and international stages, with exhibitions at prestigious venues such as The Australian Embassy in South Korea, Toowoomba Regional Gallery, Muse Gallery, and Qantas Lounges nationwide. Notable achievements include finalist selections in renowned competitions like the Omnia Art Prize, Banyule Art Award for Works on Paper, and the Art Olympia International Art Competition in Japan, where she received an honorable mention.

In November and December 2023, Belinda was honoured as the inaugural artist in residence at the Barossa Regional Gallery in South Australia. This dedicated period of time enabled the artist the opportunity to immerse herself in the local culture and environment of the Barossa region and has influenced her artistic practice and directions for her work.

Additionally, her inclusion in The DesignFiles’ compilation of must-see artists at the Melbourne Affordable Art Fair (2023) serves as a testament to the evolution of her artistic practice. Currently represented by Brenda Colahan Fine Art in Sydney, Belinda maintains a steadfast commitment to consistently sharing her artistic vision. Her works are held in numerous private national and international collections.
