ABOUT THE ARTIST
Melbourne contemporary artist Belinda Wilson creates art that examines the symmetry between the external environment and the internal human landscape. Deeply concerned by the psychological response and emotional welfare associated with the unrivaled backdrop of Australia, and its incomparable primitive artistry, her work resonates with audiences in a manner void of limitations or constraints. Three decades after concluding a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she completed a Master of Fine art (Research) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. There her work experienced evolutionally growth, that not only continues to persist but periodically adapts to the present social conversation ad condition. Her latest exhibition, ‘Land of Euphoria: A Sensory Experience of Abstracted Landscapes’, integrates the state of the human experience and its interrelationship to the outer environment, these works explore the emotional construct of joy and our perceived psychological comprehension of it. Whilst on a literal level, the scenes reference Belinda’s sensory memories of regional Australia, they symbolically recognize sensations of satisfaction, elevation, and gratitude within our exterior surroundings and internal landscape. Partnering with Melbourne luxury skincare company Denu, the exhibition will include their relaxing room mist created using pure essential oils produced by the brand, that combines notes of lavender, eucalyptus, and geranium. A scent evocative of the quintessential fragrance of Australia, artworks sold will include a gift, containing the room mist and the brand’s signature lavender milk chocolate, wrapped in a print of Belinda’s work Lost in lavender
