Match Day Programme

Wednesday 30 November Habs v Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet

Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Queen Elizabeth`s School, Barnet to the StoneX stadium this evening for our annual rugby fixture between the two schools. This year is particularly significant for us as we celebrate 100 years of rugby being played at Haberdashers`. Our relationship with QEB is longstanding; so much so that the school was one of our very first opponents in that inaugural season, way back in 1922.

Over the last century, hundreds of matches have been both won and lost but the schools have always maintained a healthy respect for one another, based upon a sense of good sportsmanship and a love for the game of rugby.

This evening, we will see the future of the game in both schools as our U12A and U13A teams take part in a curtain raiser before the 1st XV match kicks off at 7pm. There will be a presentation of the Yeabsley/Maughan trophy to the winners of the senior match; a fitting tribute to these two former teachers who together contributed nearly 100 years to the development of sport in both schools.

I wish you a most enjoyable evening.

Welcome
Alastair Metcalfe Head of Rugby
