Timings
The tournament will start promptly at 2pm with an approximate finish time of 4.45pm.
Match Format
It is a waterfall style tournament with each team entering a second phase of competition against the three teams who finished in the same position in their respective pools.
A maximum of 15 players per squad.
Referees
It is hoped that each school will provide a referee to officiate a maximum of two matches (likely to be only one).
Refreshments
Soup, rolls and a packed tea will be provided to students. There will be tea, coffee and refreshments for parents during matchtime.
GROUP U13
GENERAL Six minutes each way with a two minute interval. No conversions but kicking is permitted in open play. A free kick will be awarded for offside rather than a penalty.
SCRUMS Contested three man scrum. Opposition scrum half must remain within a metre of the scrum at all times and cannot go further than the tunnel on the opposition put in. Players not involved in the scrum are to stand five metres back from the scrum.
FREE PASS
A free pass is used when the ball or ball carrier has gone into touch. The opposition must be ten metres back from the mark. All other U13 laws regarding the free pass apply.
RESTARTS Play will start and be restarted with a drop kick. The team that conceded the try will receive the restart. The opposition must stand ten metres back. A free kick will result if the ball does not travel ten metres (unless an opponent chooses to play it) or goes beyond the dead ball area.
