Resume
From a very early age, was drawn to the art of curiosity. My name is Bego Benjumeda, and I am a Senior Interior Design student at the Savannah College of Art and Design. was fortunate to grow up in a small town of southern Spain and be inmersed by historically and architecturally rich sites that have shaped my perspective on art, people, and cultures.
This art of curiosity has evolved through the years along with my passions for design, travels, sports and nature. have been very fortunate to compete in sports internationally and get experience from two World Championships that have given me the insight into becoming a young professional in a field. You may ask what makes this relate to design. Everything. My core values, determination, competitiveness, the ability to learn in limited timeframes and succeeding under pressure are some of my most developed capabilities that I have been cultivating these past years. My athletic career has allowed me to understand the importance of designing for people and the impact we have on wellness and holistic health.
As an experienced team player and user-oriented designer, I value the importance of collaboration in teamwork environments. strongly believe that spaces transform people and how they interact with others. Through my work experience, can connect with people and build community as well as learn how to create greater experiences for them in their own environment.
am a "let's make it happen person", always motivated by a challenge. wish to continue growing, learning, and exploring fearlessly in the Interior Design industry with the purpose of making an impact on communities, people, and our environment.

Project Proposal
The Tennis & Mental Health Academy seeks to create a safe and supporting space for young athletes to grow, learn, and collaborate through their favorite sport, tennis.
It focuses on the importance of mental health , building a strong body to combat injuries, developing healthy habits that translate to their daily life challenges, as well as combatting depression and anxiety. It will help students understand how their bodies and minds connect and respond to life events.
It will be located in 1001 N Blvd, Tampa FL. There are perfect conditions for sports practice, public transit and connectivity to the site. We will be aiding the 65% of 12-17 y.o. Floridians dealing with depression that are left untreated.

PSYKHE Concept

Intersection of the body, mind and spirit for a healthy sports environment and development
Wellness and holistic health is achieved when body, mind, and spirit are aligned. Therefore, Psykhe concept aims to create an intersection of those three together, in order to achieve optimal wellness.

The body (hard court) is related to physical aspects. The body requires a balance in nutrition, sleep and rest, and physical exercise. It is related to the skills required to play on hard courts that focus on the physical and fast-paced movements, decision-making, preparedness and spatial awareness.

The mind (clay court) is related to tactical aspects of life. The human mind can be nourished and developed with analysis, critical thinking, and self-reflection. On clay courts, the tennis game becomes more tactical, helping players build mental resiliency and problem-solving skills.
The spirit (grass court) is related to emotional aspects. The spirit is related to life’s purpose, love, and will. It is about building up emotional intelligence while playing on grass court. Grass courts are known to be historical, building legacy of the game, and creating tennis communities.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, traditional shelters are no longer able to operate at full capacity making the need for individual housing units that much greater. The design of this living pod employs Trauma-Informed Design, a study that uses interior and architectural design practices to reduce stress in those who have experienced trauma. The thoughtful, sustainable, and easy-of-care material choices for POD 3240 provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for the user.
The material choices for POD 3240 were speciÞcally chosen to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the user. The materials were also chosen with longevity and ease of care in mind. The millwork for the interior is a light oak vinyl wood that is 100% waterproof to allow for easy cleaning. We selected white quartz for the kitchen counters because this material is non-porous and will not harbor stains or bacteria. The bathroom is a fully sealed concrete from ßoor to ceiling, removing the need for grout which would easily stain and collect bacteria. The exterior façade is white stucco to keep the exterior bright and inviting whereas the ÒÞngersÓ are a light oak that connects the exterior and interior conditions through material choice.

This apartment design is a high-end residential project proposal for a young couple of Atlanta-based artists with an Islamic background. The mixed-occupancy building is Opus Place n.2, located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a LEED Gold Certified building that provides 195 residential units. This project merges floors 23 & 24 into a private home.
The open concept of the first floor allows for our clients to have guests and to entertain. It features a 10 seater dining table in the center of the space. The kitchen features a large island, with plenty of cooking space and a large pantry for fresh produce.

An interior fountain welcomes people as soon as they enter the foyer. The role of water in Islamic architecture is symbolic and practical. Water is considered the source of life, not only for Islam, but it is also associated with life, purity, and sustainability for many cultures. This focal point serves as the heart of the house.

This fountain is connected to the living room and kitchen with wide arches. The floor pattern resembles the traditional Islamic mosaics with an open view to the second story.

CANTERBURY COURT BLOOM
Canterbury Court is a Life Plan Community project located in Atlanta, Georgia.

In Canterbury Court there is a sense of home and community, where older adults live share a joyful lifestyle, by fostering social conectedness amongst residents.

It is residential in character and small in size. Universal and human-centered design is one of the key points of focus, as we build interiors with empathy.

Bloom explores biophilia and the beauty of experiencing life. It is all about delicacy and sophistication of design. A flower blooms and grows from within, from its center. Similarly, the spatial design flows and grows from the focal point; the reception. It incorporates soft colors with character, featuring pinks, violets, oranges, and yellows which are easy to distinguish colors for the elder eye through color theory.

KITCHENETTE

The kitchenette’s accent wall provides contrast between the countertop and kitchen finishes. It is ADA accessible and provides a 58” knee clearance below the kitchen sink.

LOUNGE SPACE

The lounge has a cozy and warm residential feel Several seating options are provided, as well as ottomans for staff.

The concept “Bloom” is explored in the circular, and curved elements as well as in the floral patterns and prints, such as the west accent wall.
Through place attachment we bring home into one's community by creating nooks and nested spaces.
ARTS ROOM

The arts room design is vibrant and rich in color. It explores a complimentary color scheme of rich violet and yellow hues. This is the perfect place for socializing, relaxing, and a resource room for painting supplies and creative opportunities, as well as relaxation and healing through art therapy . It is a resource room of materials, paint supplies, and perfect for developing creativity and exploration.

VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE ROOM GROUND FLOOR

The dynamic nature of this project resembles a futuristic perspective and feeling of being in an ethereal and immersive space that is thoroughly articulated.

There is an special emphasis on acoustical solutions in rooms such as the Virtual Experience Room that contribute to the high technology integrated speakers for an interactive experience.

LOUNGE SPACE
FIRST FLOOR
The separation between the lounge space and the workstations is articulated with floor-to-ceiling paneling that carries the concept further with circular and pierced patterns combined with glass surfaces.
These thoughtful material selections are a strategy that allow for light to pass through the workstations into the open lounge spaces naturally.

AUDITORIUM

The auditorium room allows visitors to come into a space and engage with AngelFlight’s presentations. Its dynamic features resemble the concept of Angelflight and the character of the project by bringing customers together in a space in which they can connect, learn, and celebrate the organization's missions and history.
