Hello, I’m Beck!

I am a Latina freelance graphic designer and illustrator based in Kansas City, Missouri.

With over three years of professional experience, I specialize in both illustration & branding design.

Nurtured by a childhood passion for art and storytelling, I embarked on a journey to become an illustrator from a young age. My experience as an actress has instilled in me the power of visual storytelling, where every image conveys a narrative and leaves a lasting impression. This ethos is the foundation of my creative process.

JBS Foods- Logo Design

Client: JBS Foods- Future Leader ID & Training Program

Services: logo design

JBS Foods- Future Leader ID & Training Program was a commissioned logo project I took on in 2024 for a leading American global food company. The scope was a logo design to be used on official stationary and promotional material for a new program in development for the company. I had to create a logo that was cohesive with the program and the company as a whole.

Final Design

Prototypes

The three logo designs were designed to represent a harmonious blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and adherence to the JBS Foods’ brand identity. Each design encapsulates the core values and objectivesof the Future Leader ID & Training Program, serving as a visual embodiment of its commitment to fostering leadership, growth, and togetherness.

Tipsy Bard KC- Logo Design & Brand Packaging

Services: Branding Packaging- logo, business card, brand style guide, website concept, merchandise

Tipsy Bard KC was a commissioned logo project I took on in 2023 for a local business about to break ground and then revised once more this year as they rebranded themselves to ground themselves in the local community by adding ‘KC’ to their name and a dragon to make the logo more ‘adventurous’.

Tipsy Bard KC- Logo Process

Concept sketches

“Classic and fantastical, that is fun and heroic without being tacky”

During our initial meeting, the client expressed a desire for a design that felt both “classic and fantastical,” embodying fun and heroism without being tacky or demonic. For Tipsy Bard, I combined elements of TTRPGs with an art deco style to convey professionalism. Incorporating a lute and tankards, symbolizing bardic tradition and alcoholic offerings, respectively, I created a design that reflects their brand name. After exploring various fonts, we settled on “Dragonlord” by Mans Greback, purchased under a commercial license that allowed editing to the font. I thickened certain strokes and adjusted the kerning for impactfulness and strength in the name silhouette.

As a company emphasizing ‘word-of-mouth’ marketing, providing merchandise at events serves as both a promotional tool and a means of fostering lasting impressions with attendees. Offering merchandise as purchases or door prizes, a consistent practice at every event, proves strategic in spreading awareness and maintaining brand recall among event-goers. Additionally, incorporating alternative logos, especially on items like the glass tumbler, enhances the visual appeal of the merchandise while diversifying the branding strategy.

Logo Mark (Color) Wordmark (Color) Wordmark (Monochrome) Full Logo (Monochrome) Logo Mark (Monochrome) When presenting the logo on a colored background, consider using a solid color or incorporating shapes and elements that complement the overall design aesthetic. These additional elements can help the logo stand out and seamlessly integrate with the surrounding visuals. Whether the background is a solid color or incorporates shapes, ensure that the logo remains clearly visible and retains its legibility. 5 Utilize the primary logo version whenever possible, which consists of the full Tipsy Bard KC logo with accompanying text. Additionally, alternative versions such as the icon-only or simplified text-only logo may be used in specific contexts where space is limited or a more streamlined approach is preferred. The Tipsy Bard KC logo is primarily designed to be displayed on a colored background, with the preferred colors outlined in this guide. Alternative colors in rich jewel tones may also be used to complement specific design aesthetics or to enhance visual impact. However, if a white background is necessary, use a drop shadow behind the logo and text to make the text visible. If additional lines are needed for borders, please use art deco lines similar to the logo design for brand consistency. Maintain a clear space around the logo to ensure visibility and legibility. 1 inch is the minimum amount of space to allow between the logo and other elements. Avoid placing other elements too close to the logo, allowing it to stand out and command attention.

When incorporating the Tipsy Bard KC logo into various applications and materials, it’s essential to maintain proper scaling and sizing for optimal visual impact and clarity. The primary logo file is provided at dimensions of 2057 pixels wide and 2360 pixels high, with a bit depth of 32. Additionally, the file size is approximately 199KB. For digital and print applications, adhere to the following guidelines: Digital Applications: When using the logo in digital formats such as websites, social media profiles, or email signatures, ensure that the logo is scaled proportionally to maintain clarity and legibility. Avoid enlarging or reducing the logo beyond its original dimensions to prevent distortion or loss of quality. Print Materials: For printed materials such as business cards, brochures, or banners, adjust the logo size according to the dimensions of the design. Maintain a balance between the logo size and other elements on the printed material, ensuring that the logo remains prominent without overwhelming the layout. Resolution: When resizing the logo, maintain a resolution of at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) for high-quality print reproduction. This ensures crisp, clear imagery and prevents pixelation or blurriness when printed. In situations where a colored background cannot be utilized or when a repeated background is required, the Logo Mark may be employed in repeating patterns. To maintain visual cohesion and prevent overwhelming the design, the Logo Mark should be applied with reduced opacity, seamlessly filling white space while complementing the overall aesthetic. 7

When selecting fonts for promotional content, prioritize legibility, readability, and alignment with the overall brand aesthetic. Consider using typefaces that complement the style and tone of Dragonlord, ensuring a cohesive visual identity across all communications. For web content, approved fonts include Arial, Helvetica, and sans-serif options. These fonts are preferred for their versatility, clarity, and compatibility with digital platforms. When utilizing web fonts, ensure consistent application and adherence to brand guidelines to maintain a cohesive online presence. 9 Typography Tipsy Bard KC Logo & Heading Font - Dragonlord Regular ABCDEFGHIJKLM NOPQRSTUVWXYZ !$#%&*?@ |\/-:; Licensee: Rebecca Starr Muñoz Font: Dragonlord License Number: QF121401658G Description: This font was specifically purchased for commercial use by Tipsy Bard from the creator Mans Greback and serves as the primary typeface for all branding materials.
