“Since 1850, the education and development of young women has been our priority. Our graduates are confident young women, involved in their communities who have discovered their passions and are ready to excel in the next step of their journey. Strong women build strong communities and we are confident that we are educating women who will change the world.”

—Wendy A. Hoke, President

WHERE YOUNG WOMEN LEARN TO CHANGE THE WORLD

MISSION

Beaumont School is an all-girls’ Catholic high school in the Ursuline tradition that educates women for life, leadership and service.

#WeAreUrsuline

Founded in 1850 by the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, Beaumont is the oldest school in the Cleveland Diocese and the oldest all-girls’ high school in Greater Cleveland. As an International Baccalaureate World School, Beaumont is dedicated to its college preparatory, liberal arts education in a multi-cultural setting. Our students experience intellectual, spiritual, and social growth both in and out of the classroom.

A Beaumont student is confident, empowered, and strong. She has a voice; she is a self-advocate. She is a critical thinker who leads with compassion and contributes to her community. She has a strong foundation of faith and service that guides her moral compass. A Beaumont student inspires and influences the world around her.

ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE WORLD SCHOOL

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Beaumont offers IB for All, equitable access to distinguished academics and experiential learning. The IB aligns with our Ursuline mission to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Beaumont is the only Northeast Ohio all-girls’ high school to offer the IB Diploma Programme.

IB FOR ALL IS AN ADVANTAGE FOR EVERY BEAUMONT STUDENT

All of Beaumont’s educators use the IB framework in designing curriculum that focuses on big-picture concepts and promotes an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning for each student.

Every student has the opportunity and is encouraged to take IB courses while at Beaumont. Whether they take a single class, earn a subject-specific IB Certificate, or work through the full two-year program towards the IB Diploma, students benefit from the emphasis on academic achievement, critical thinking, research skills and community service.

IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Full diploma candidates study a balance of the humanities and sciences in six subject areas. They complete three additional requirements: the Extended Essay, the Theory of Knowledge course and 150 hours of Creativity, Activity and Service.

IB cultivates caring, inquiring, internationallyminded and service-oriented young people, which aligns beautifully with our Ursuline mission and charism of forming lifelong learners who strive to make a difference in the world.
