During the Muslim month of Ramadan (fasting and other spiritual exercises), many Christians use this time to focus their prayers on the Muslim world. This year Ramadan is during August 1 – 31. PERSONAL TESTIMONIES

Andrew and Laura Filiposki were recently married a few weeks ago in June. Their wedding took place in Chicago and as their church family, we want to celebrate with them too, so we will be hosting a local reception/shower/potluck party at Bear Creek Church on Saturday, August 6th. Everyone is invited!

THANK YOU... Conrad and Debbie Neudorf would like to express a big thank you to everyone who helped them move on Tuesday, July 12th. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Council Announcement: Pastoral Search... After carefully considering many resumes, the Pastoral Search Committee was unanimous in recommending the hiring of Conrad Neudorf as Senior Pastor. Council has accepted this recommendation, and is now looking for feedback from the congregation. Please call any council member with encouragement or concerns and be sure to attend the meeting after the service next week on July 24th, 2011 to discuss this.

> After half a century of civil wars and oppression, the

people of South Sudan can finally rejoice in their independence as the world’s newest country (July 9th, 2011). Though this landmark brings South Sudan needed hope, they will still have to face countless struggles as an inexperienced government to one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. With a population of approximately eight million in one of the world’s poorest regions, only 15% can read. Pray for them as they develop as a nation. Pray for God’s guidance for its government and peace with Northern Sudan.
