disaster by risking default on our debt. Unless action is taken by Thursday, markets may plunge, the government will default on payments to creditors and recipients of government payments like social security beneficiaries and veterans, and America’s creditworthiness may be downgraded again. A debt limit increase simply allows our country to pay the bills we have already incurred and doesn’t add one cent to our national debt. Please see page 4

Bryan Gallyot worked stage like a seasoned pro, while Santa Anita’s own MC José Contreras was on hand to assist people with racing terminology and betting

The Stein holding and costume contest with categories including child, traditional nan and woman, sexiest man and woman were some of the day’s highlights. This is the case in most loans made in the last 12 years. If the bank foreclosed we should be able to get the homeowner money damages and/or the house back. Or a lawsuit could be filed and a court ruling obtained preventing the court from foreclosing. Recently enacted Sections 2924(a)(6) and 2924.19 of California Civil Code provide the same relief to homeowners. It is highly suggested that homeowners take this window of opportunity to get relief before the banks get Congress to close this door with national legislation. Contact us so we can help you.

Workers provided protections against retaliation in the workplace

Rep. Adam Schiff Continued from page 1

On the other hand, default means higher interest payments, a weaker economy and, ironically, greater deficits and debt. “The full faith and credit of the United States is nonnegotiable. I hope that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will join the call to raise the debt ceiling immediately and unequivocally, without any extraneous demands on the Affordable Care Act or anything else – time is running out.” Background: While no one knows the full extent of the economic damage should the U.S. default on its debts, the cost to American families will be significant, potentially resulting in: •Higher interest rates for mortgages, auto loans, student loans, and credit cards, which could force

families to cut back on key essentials [JEC,Ways & Means Committee] •An average homebuyer could pay an extra $100 a month, if mortgage rate spreads increase by as much as during the default crisis in 2011 [Treasury Dept.] •The cost of college could go up by $1,000 for a freshman who starts school in 2014 and takes out the maximum student loan if the government were to default [Institute for College Advancement and Success , Education & Labor Committee] •Families’ retirement savings in 401(k)s dropping as the stock market plummets. •The average American’s 401(k) could drop by $15,000 and the average IRA by almost $23,000,

if retirement assets shrink as much as with the 2011 debt limit crisis. The cost would be higher for workers nearing retirement – dropping an average 401(k) more than $37,000 [Ways & Means Committee,The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries] •Higher interest rates & less access to business loans needed to finance payrolls, build inventories, or invest in equipment & construction [JEC] •3.4 million veterans not receiving disability benefits [JEC] •10 million Americans not receiving their Social Security check on time in the first week [BPC] •Drug reimbursements under Medicare stopping, and doctors and hospitals not getting paid [CNN]

Governor Signs AB 263 into Law Assemblymember Roger Hernández’s AB 263 was signed into law by Governor Brown last week. The measure addresses employer retaliation against employees who may be vulnerable to workplace abuse due to their immigration status. “This bill prohibits employers from using an individual’s immigration status against workers who exercise their rights under the California Labor Code or local ordinances. I thank the Governor for his pledge to continue protecting the

working class and help safeguard thousands of employees who live in fear in this country, but particularly in this state. For many of us, these workers are often times our fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles or other relatives who face these types of abuses on a daily basis. AB 263 would also authorize a civil action by an employee or other person who is the subject of an unfair immigrationrelated practice, and would authorize a court to order a suspension of the business license for up to 14 days of a person who

violates these provisions for a first violation, up to 30 days for a second violation, and up to 90 days for a third or subsequent violation. Should any worker request their pay for work performed, request compliance with labor laws, or engage in union activity, this bill will protect against retaliatory practices such as an employer to ICE, e-verify a worker, or even re-verify the worker. The labor movement applauds the Governor for signing AB 263, and we thank Assemblymember Hernandez.

PRESCRIBING FOR SLEEP APNEA? YOUR DME COMPANY LETTING YOU DOWN? If you’re frustrated with your DME provider, find out why thousands of physicians prefer “Classic”

Why Classic?

We relieve you from the burden of answering day-to-day equipment issues.

“Sleep” is our specialty. That’s right, no oxygen, scooters, wheelchairs, beds or other DME. We supply only PAP equipment and related replenishment supplies. This allows us to be real experts in what we do and to concentrate on delivering the patient care that matters. The fact we serve more than 18,000 patients over 18 states and are growing rapidly is testament to our focus and commitment to delivering timely setup and having happy and compliant patients.

able to continue to collect usage data.

Compliance through great patient care

When calling patients we use data generated from our proprietary Download on Demand® software. This takes the raw data streams from patient’s modems, parses the data to produce compliance reports containing key data points and a graph that our clinicians use so that they can have an intelligent conversation with the patient based on that patient’s actual use of their equipment. Of course patients can (and do!) call in to our patient care center for help and advice from our clinicians at any time.

is what really sets us apart from the pack. Our licensed respiratory professionals (respiratory therapists and registered sleep techs) work with patients from the time of setup and throughout their therapy with one goal in mind…to ensure they quickly adapt to their therapy and stay compliant over time.

Our CPAP Circle of Care® program

was carefully designed to achieve this. The first step of the program is for one of our licensed respiratory therapists to complete the setup faceto-face with the patient, either in their home or their doctor’s office, usually within 72 hours of approval. Our R/T will set the machine to the prescription and then educate the patient on its use, care and maintenance. And educate the patient on what to expect over the first days and weeks of their therapy. We set up all patients on the highest quality machines fitted with wireless modems (regardless of insurance). And we leave the modems on the machine indefinitely so as to be

Interested in learning more? www.classicsleepcare.com

After setup patients are passed to our patient care center for ongoing compliance care. Our licensed clinicians make outgoing calls at 72 hours, 30 days and 90 days after setup to interdict any problems patients may be having. A field R/T will make a re-visit to a patient in their home where a problem cannot be resolved over the phone.

Download on Demand® - Driving Compliance

Our goal is to have happy, compliant patients while taking the brunt of the every-day questions patients invariably have. This relieves the burden from our referring physician’s offices who otherwise have to deal with this call volume, and depending on the experience of the doctor in this field, may not be able to answer typical questions the patient has regarding equipment issues (e.g. how to fix a leaking mask).

Skeptical?

So you’ve heard it all before? All the DME’s brag that they’re the best and have a great compliance and supply replenishment program.... everybody talks the talk...so who do you believe? Your patients...that’s who! We’ll prove it to you. Send us two or three patients and then ask your patients about the care they received and their opinion of the process... then compare the results to your existing DME provider. Talk to your staff about the interaction they have with our office. Look at our documentation. Reach out to Bill Kleiman (contact info below) to set up an inservice over lunch with your staff to go over our program and answer any questionvs you may have.

The prescribing doctor receives documentation by eFax (or electronically via EMR system integration), starting with confirmation of receipt of the referral through every touch we have with the patient. This includes a copy of the 2-page compliance reports containing our Download on Demand® data and a copy of the notes made by our clinician during a call. Our proprietary systems automate the flow of documentation keeping referring doctors completely informed about their patients’ progress and ensure physicians have the documentation they need for follow-up consultations with their patients.

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (714) 573-1965 or visit this Internet Web site www.priorityposting. com, using the file number assigned to this case 13-49848. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. The Declaration pursuant to California Civil Code, Section 2923.5(a) was fulfilled when the Notice of Default was recorded on 4/3/2013 Date: 10/11/2013 Old Republic Default Management Services, A Division of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, as Trustee 500 City Parkway West, Suite 200, Orange, CA 92868-2913 (866) 263-5802 For Sale Information Contact: Priority Posting & Publishing (714) 573-1965 Heather Marsh, Assistant Secretary “We are attempting to collect a debt, and any information we obtain will be used for that purpose.” P1065742 10/17, 10/24, 10/31/2013 WEST COVINA PRESS
