Sierra Madre city manager, Elaine Aguilar has confirmed that no development application has been submitted for (the) project at Mater Dolorosa Monastery and Retreat Center. The city manager also told Beacon Media that the project “ has not been scheduled for City Council or Planning Commission review and there is no estimated date when this might go before the Planning Commission or City Council – essentially because no development application, or even a pre-development application, has been filed with the City.” As of last week, it was reported that part of the parcel of 83 acres was for sale and a developer planning a large scale housing project.
