Female Veterans honored in San Gabriel Valley Monday asphyxiated, assaulted in San Gabriel LASD assisting San Gabriel PD in investigation On Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at approximately 5:30 PM, officers from the San Gabriel Police Department responded to the 500 block of East Valley Boulevard in the city of San Gabriel, in response to a person dead at the location. When officers arrived, they discovered a 45 year-old Asian female lying in a bedroom at the location. The victim appeared to have been assaulted and asphyxiated. Further investigation revealed that the victim lived at the location by herself. Her friends had not heard from her for several days so Please see page 8

College student dies in accident at Hermet Flats On Monday, November 11, 2013, a group of 13 college students were hiking near “Hermit Flats” in the Angeles National Forest, when a group of them decided to jump into a pool of water from the adjacent rocks. The victim was the sixth person to jump. After the victim jumped, he appeared on the surface but appeared to be unconscious. Sheriff’s officials described the man only as a 19 year old Asian from Monterey Park. Several people from the group pulled the victim from the water and began C.P.R. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Thursday evening that it was able to seize evidence of the distribution of child pornography in Pasadena after it raided locations in three cities late last week. The department’s Special Victims Bureau and Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Team served search warrants at homes in Compton, Bell Gardens, El Monte and Pasadena on Friday, November 1. Evidence linking the people at those locations to the possession and distribution of child pornography were seized, the department said. The investigation is on-going and no information is available as to whom the suspects were distributing the child

A total of 1,387,446 families or 6,937,229 persons were affected in 7,488 barangays in 41 provinces of Regions IV-A, IV-B, V, VI, VII, VIII, X, XI and CARAGA.
