Arcadia Police seeking witnesses in hit and run collision According to family members, the pedestrian who was hit Sept. 30 is making good progress toward recovery after sustaining severe injuries in this collision. Arcadia police investigators have had few leads develop in the case and hope to find a witness to the collision. Both roadways are well traveled in the morning hours and we hope additional persons may have seen this suspect vehicle. The hit and run vehicle was described as a mid-2000 model Toyota Corolla gray in color, which was last seen eastbound on Camino Real. The Toyota had a California license plate with the first digit of “5” and the last two digits of “40.” The driver of Please see page 11

Rosemead dental hygienist sentenced to jail for fondling 15 year old girl A dental hygienist was sentenced to 15 months for inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl at a dental office in Rosemead. Saul Robles, 37, pleaded no contest Wednesday to one count of lewd acts on a child and was Sheriff’s detectives said the incidents happened at the SmileCare dental office at 4100 Rosemead Boulevard in Rosemead.

On Thursday, October 17, 2013, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office formally charged Paris Holloway with four felony criminal counts and one misdemeanor count, resulting from the October 11th officer involved shooting that occurred near Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue in the City of Pasadena. On October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:00 AM, two patrol officers observed a male pedestrian in the area of Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue. Officers attempted to contact the male who ran into a nearby housing complex at Kings Village. Officers pursued the male who allegedly ran from officers and when asked to stop presented a firearm and an officer involved shooting (OIS) occurred. Officer involved shooting in Pasadena raises questions Councilman Kennedy calls for more transparency BY TERRY MILLER At a Public Safety Meeting held Monday evening, Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez updated concerned residents on the Oct. 11 officer-involved shooting of 23-year-old Paris Deshawn Holloway. At Monday’s meeting, Sanchez said officers attempted to stop Holloway while on a routine patrol after seeing he was wearing gang attire.
