Suspect identified in officer 3 people shot to death involved in El Monte shooting Murder – Suicide suspected in Pasadena Los Angeles County numerous reports of constant On October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:00 AM, two patrol officers observed a male pedestrian in the area of Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue. Officers attempted to contact the male who ran into a nearby housing complex at Kings Village. Officers pursued the male who allegedly ran from officers and when asked to stop presented a firearm and an officer involved shooting (OIS) occurred. Sheriff's Homicide detectives are assisting El Monte Police Department officers at the 9900 block of Marshall Street, El Monte, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man and two women. The victims, one male and two females were pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday evening around 7:30 PM. It appeared initially to be a murder suicide according to initial reports. One of the victims was the daughter of the male and the other female was allegedly a friend. There have been
arguing at the house on Marshall Street prior to this tragedy. The male victim was 50 and the women in their 30’s according to reports. Two Arcadia women robbed at knifepoint early Monday On October 14, 2013, at about 3:10 AM, Arcadia Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of El Dorado Street on the report of a robbery that had occurred. Upon arrival, officers contacted two women who had just returned home. After their car was parked in the garage, they were confronted by two suspects. One suspect held a knife and the second suspect stole a purse from inside the vehicle. Both suspects then ran from the garage to a gold colored, four-door, Honda Accord. The suspects’ vehicle was driven eastbound on El Dorado Street. The suspect who held the knife was described as a male African-American, 25-35 years old, 5’07”

Inaugural Oktoberfest brings out beer lovers at Santa Anita On Saturday October 12 Santa Anita’s infield hosted the Dog Haus inaugural Oktoberfest to the delight of German beer lovers everywhere. 28 German and craft beer breweries including Golden Road, New Belgium, Stone, Epic, Bootleggers, Speakeasy and Angel City were some of the featured beers. Dog Haus, served up Beer Brat Dogs, Sausages and Tater Tots to a hungry and eager crowd of hundreds on the infield.
