A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday, Aug. 13, on a new fourstory medical office center being built by The Hale Corporation in a jointventure partnership with The Stronach Group, owner of Santa Anita Park horse race track. Congregation Ale House delicacies including their famous ale were served after the ceremonial groundbreaking. The Hale Corporation, based in Monrovia, has developed and built many medical buildings, including the Children’s Hospital on Santa Clara Avenue near Fifth Street in Arcadia, which opened in 2010.

1,800 registered children of Foothill Unity Center client families attended the annual Back to School giveaway to Santa Anita Park in Arcadia Tuesday morning to pick up new backpacks, grade-appropriate school supplies, uniforms, and clothing they need to start the school year with

Control District will conduct a truck-mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) treatment to suppress populations of aggressive day-biting Asian tiger mosquitoes during the early morning hours of Thursday August 15th beginning at 12:00am (midnight) and continuing until approximately 5:00am. This treatment may be canceled or postponed to August 16, 2013 if weather conditions are not favorable. As the summer progresses, the Asian tiger

Recently, there has been a lot of public discussion about the removal of James O'Brien, the Arcadia High School crosscountry coach who has had a number of very successful seasons over the years. As a matter of policy,

the District does not publicly comment on personnel matters. First we are legally precluded from providing details of private personnel issues. Second, we are true believers in allowing people to maintain their privacy in employment matters.
