On a beautiful, sunny July Saturday, members of council were joined by food truck vendors, residents and visitors to celebrate the Official Opening of the Town's new Beach Area 1 Entertainment and Food Truck Zone. This represents the next phase of activation of the Town's beachfront and Beach Area 1 commercial & tourism area.

To officially open the the area, great entertainment was provided by Bar Stool Confessions who kept folks rocking for the rest of the evening.

The food truck zone is full to capacity, with 5 trucks for the 2023 summer season offering a variety of Italian and Indian food, plus French Fries, gourmet poutine, ice cream, sweet treats, snow cones and more.

The entertainment area, with a new stage, is a large space repurposing the site of the former Splash Pad. It fills up quickly with a mix of local residents and out of town visitors who enjoy the new site. The area includes colourful muskoka-chair-style seating, picnic tables and a “sandbox” where young children can play as part of the site, while parents relax, enjoy food from local restaurants and food trucks while enjoying themselves.

This new venue is home to “Movies Under the Stars” every Wednesday evening as well as “Summer Sets”, live entertainment every Friday and Saturday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. (July and August)

The view of the beach, the bay and of course our famous sunsets, make for a spectacular backdrop to the fun family entertainment provided at this new beachfront location. Follow the ‘Explore Wasaga Beach’ on Facebook for details of movies, events and performers.
