Full-Time MBA
Master of Business Administration
The Boston College full-time MBA is a two-year, on-campus master’s program that offers a broad range of management education and opportunities. The program’s first year follows a quarter system, and the second year shifts to a regular semester schedule with evening elective classes. Students can opt into one of two tracks: the traditional track or the STEM-designated track.
My time in the BC MBA pushed me outside my comfort zone and helped me grow personally and professionally. I’ve gained the confidence to lead in uncertain environments and a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with integrity.

Data Analytics Sequence & STEM-Designated Track
All students are required to take three core data analytics courses, which form an integral part of the BC MBA curriculum. These hands-on courses are designed for students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds so you can embrace data-driven decision making and stand out among job candidates.
Core Data Analytics Courses
Data Analytics 1: Model Building
Students learn about the primary mathematical modeling methods used in business: machine learning (or “big data”) and optimization. The course introduces the coding language R.
Data Analytics 2: Management and Data Skills
Students are exposed to an overview of IT fundamentals, key emerging technologies, and IT managerial frameworks. The course covers SQL and entity relationship diagrams.
Data Analytics 3: In Practice
This course provides a pragmatic overview of emerging analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques. Students use Python and Tableau.
STEM-Designated Track
Full-time MBA students can opt into the STEM-designated track, which focuses on the application of statistical modeling, data warehousing, data mining, programming, forecasting, and operations research techniques in the context of the business world.
Information for International Students
The program’s STEM designation allows international MBA graduates on an F-1 visa to potentially qualify for an additional 24 months of training in their field of study (called Optional Practical Training, or OPT) beyond the standard 12 months.
The Part-Time MBA
The part-time BC MBA offers the same rigorous curriculum and world-class faculty as the full-time MBA, but at a flexible pace. There is no difference between diplomas. Students benefit from a primarily in-person learning experience, with additional flexibility through a variety of online course offerings.
→ Two start dates (fall or spring)
→ On average, students take two classes a semester and complete the program in 3 to 3.5 years
