About the Boston College Carroll School of Management

Boston College was founded in 1863 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Today it is one of the nation’s foremost universities, with an enrollment of over 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students from more than 80 countries. As a Jesuit, Catholic university, Boston College is rooted in a worldview that calls us to learn, to search for truth, and to live in service to others. To fulfill that mission, we welcome and embrace the contributions of a diverse student body from many faith traditions.

The Carroll School of Management provides undergraduate and graduate management education attuned to the needs of today’s business world. Aligned with the philosophy of Boston College, the Carroll School develops leaders and managers who bring a multidisciplinary and ethical perspective to leadership. Nearly 2,400 undergraduate and around 800 graduate students are currently enrolled.

Over the past decade, the Carroll School has consistently placed among the most highly ranked business schools in the United States, according to a variety of annual surveys conducted by U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg, and other publications. In addition to its undergraduate programs, the Carroll School also offers a degree in Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees in finance and accounting, along with doctoral programs in finance, accounting, and organization studies.

Standing within a rich tradition of education and research, the Carroll School faculty advances values-driven management and leadership. Our nearly 130 full-time faculty members are organized in six academic departments: accounting, business analytics, business law and society, finance, management and organization, and marketing. They make significant contributions to management research, education, and practice by publishing articles in renowned journals, participating in editorial review boards, and serving in leadership roles in professional organizations. The Carroll School also houses eight centers devoted to specific areas of research, education, and practice—reaching out to the University community, the professions, and the broader society.
