Our Lady Tigers recently competed in the King City Basketball Tournament, managing a 2-2 record and 5th place, starting off with a hard fought loss, two hard fought wins, followed by a close and incredibly hard fought loss. Their performance at these games showed their resolution and grit while on the court. When asked what he thought about the games, Coach Rumpf said, “I think we played really well, and we showed true character and toughness with how well we fought. We grew closer as a team and improved in many areas.” On a similar note, when I asked two players, Freshmen Josie Long and Kyleigh Black, about their performance, they had similar ideas. Josie Long said, “I think we did great and worked together really well,, but we had a lot to improve on. And Hanshaw looked great out there.” Kyleigh Black had similar thoughts and said, “I think we played awesome, improved alot, and became closer as a team.” If we can be sure of anything, it’s that the Lady Tiger Basketball program will continue to do well and flourish as time passes, starting with tonight’s Courtwarming game against Platte Valley.
