Vehicle Registration & License Vehicle Registration

You have 30 days to register your vehicle after establishing residency in your county.

Step 1: Obtain Texas approved auto insurance.

Step 2: Get auto safety inspection.

Step 3: Register vehicle at country tax office. Bring the following: • Proof of auto insurance, safety inspection, title, Application for Texas Certificate of Title • Form 130-U and payment of registration fees.

• A single sticker will be proof of both the inspection and auto registration.

• Drivers will have to show proof of a valid inspection to renew their vehicle registration.

Texas Driver License

You have 90 days from the time you moved to the state to obtain your Texas driver license.

Bring the following to any Texas license office: • Identification: driver license, passport, birth certificate, social security card • Vehicle Registration and Insurance • Texas Driver License Application (Form DL-14A) • Registration Fee If you have a VALID out-of-state license in you possession, it must be surrendered at the driver license office.
