CELEBRATING THE RESIDENTIAL PARK COMMUNITIES FOR 63 YEARS
Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week By Alison Elsner This is the magical time to take full advantage of the amazing cuisine options in the Coachella Valley. This foodie favorite event, presented by the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, features 17 days of scrumptious dining at over 100
desert restaurants. Participating eateries offer special menus at set prices with lunches available for $15, $20 or $25 and dinners for $29, $39 or $49. It’s as easy as pie to get involved. Simply make reservations for lunch or dinner, head on over and eat! This is the first year (since the event’s inception in 2007) that the
extravaganza will span three weekends, culminating on Father’s Day. Old favorites as well as newbies to the cuisine scene will welcome diners, including AC3 Restaurant + Bar in Palm Desert and Azucar at La Serena Villas in Palm Springs. Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity. Menus are
offered during lunch and dinner hours only. Participating restaurants are listed on the event’s website. Bon appétit! Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Weeks is held June 1 through June 17. For a list of restaurants, menus and additional information, visit visitgreaterpalmsprings.com/dinegps
Summer fun begins an hour earlier at ‘The Living Desert’ Beginning Friday, June 1, The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will begin its summer schedule and open an hour earlier for guests to enjoy all the wildlife, gardens and special attractions. Plus, discounted summer memberships are available. From June 1 to September 30, The Living Desert will be open daily 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with last admission at 1 p.m. Summer mem-
berships, also valid June 1 through September 30, entitle guests to four months of free admission for $25/individuals, $40/couples, $75/family which includes two adults and four children. Summer hours and memberships offer a great opportunity for visitors to take advantage of the extra hour in the early morning when wildlife is most active. Before the heat of
the day, many animals can be seen stretching, eating, and playing in the cooler morning temps. Coinciding with the summer hours, The Living Desert’s nature preserve hiking trails and carousel will be closed and will reopen October 1.
