Q3 Culture of Excellence Award Winner

Congratulations to Cassie Low, actuarial analyst, for being named the Q3 Culture of Excellence Award winner.
Cassie was nominated for demonstrating the Blue Cross of Idaho leadership principle Make it Happen, which she fully embodied to address a recent situation in which a delay caused a large number of contract settlements to be at risk of being paid late. Cassie went above and beyond the expectations for her position and has been credited with being personally responsible for supporting the work that helped us keep our contractual obligation to get these payments to providers made on time.
Cassie knocked down every barrier that was put in her way and was able to deploy creative work arounds to ensure the settlements were paid on time.
In addition to Making it Happen, Cassie also recognized the business need and demonstrated a Sense of Urgency by adjusting her schedule and adapting her role and responsibilities to include this additional workload.
Thanks to Cassie’s efforts, Blue Cross of Idaho avoided financial penalties, such as interest charges, that would have come from late payment. Her efforts also helped us to maintain a good working relationship with this group of providers. Her leadership was proud to note that throughout the time of putting in all of this extra work, Cassie retained her normal, cheerful disposition!
Congratulations, Cassie, and thank you for your hard work!
Blue Cross of Idaho Celebrates Compliance Awareness Week
November 7-10, 2022
Every year Blue Cross of Idaho marks Compliance Week with various learning activities and chances for employees to win prizes. For 2022, Compliance Week will be a hybrid experience, with both virtual activities for all employees and on-site activities at the main campus in Meridian.
The Compliance Department invites you to participate in the Compliance “Car Wars” event, where you can take part in compliance-related activities throughout the week and be entered to win prizes (ex. gift cards, swag and iPads).
Join us on Wednesday, November 9, at the entrance of the Blue Bistro to meet a Star Wars character and enjoy refreshments.
As the event approaches, we will send additional details, including a link to participate in the virtual festivities!

FACETS
What's Next?
Redesign Phase 2 Update
Phase 2 involves the migration of all Fully Insured and Balance Funded groups along with the group’s membership. The implementation activities will begin in November, then culminate with the processing of claims for these groups starting with claims that have a date of service on or after January 1, 2023. While there are a number of changes and improvements being made, the most visible change is that the members will get new identification numbers.
Introducing Change Champions
Going forward, for Facets Redesign Phase 2 and Phase 3, we will be utilizing the Change Champion model, similar to what we did for the Workday implementation a few years ago. The objective of the Change Champion model is to partner the project effort with individual employees who are early adopters of the new capabilities in Facets Gemstone. The Change Champions will promote Blue Cross of Idaho’s comprehensive adoption of Facets Gemstone. They will act as the voice of change within their departments and will play a valuable role in bringing questions and providing feedback to the project team.

More Coming Soon
We are in the process of creating more on-demand training courses for Phase 2, which will be available in Workday Learning. We will send out a communication when they become available. Please contact Sue Leask (sue.leask@bcidaho.com) with any questions you have regarding training.
Leaders, please be on the lookout for future meetings about the Facets Redesign project. Contact Emily Price (emily.price@bcidaho.com) with your questions about company leadership meeting.

Castleford School District Opens Preschool

The Castleford School District recently celebrated the opening of its new preschool program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event at the K-12 school. The goals of the preschool program are to help prepare young children for elementary school and provide much-needed childcare for working parents. There are no licensed childcare centers in the City of Castleford, meaning the only available options are miles away in Twin Falls and Filer.
