All young learners need to show proof of their school class. Forms 6 and 7 students are placed in a class according to their school class; IELTS students and students in Forms 1 to 5 have to take a placement test.
報讀中學課程的同學必須出示學校班級證明。中六及中七的同學會獲安 排入讀在學校的同一級別；中一至中五及報讀國際英語水平測試預備技 巧課程的同學則須參加編級試。
(1) Check registration dates The most up-to-date registration dates and course timetables can be found on our website: www.britishcouncil.org.hk/English. (2) Take a placement test To register for your first British Council course you need to take a placement test to assess your current level of English. A course counsellor will then help you select the course most suited to your needs and English level; this takes around 60 minutes. A placement test: • can be booked and paid for online 14 days before your preferred day; for more details, please visit www.britishcouncil.org.hk/placement • has a non-refundable fee of HK$65 • takes place at the British Council, 3/F, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong • result is valid for six months only. (3) Registration • If you are registering for the first time, you must register in person at our Admiralty centre. • If you are an existing student, you can re-register at our Admiralty centre, through our website or by post. For details, please visit: www.britishcouncil.org.hk/reregistration. (4) Payment • You can pay by credit card, EPS or by cheque made payable to 'British Council'. Eligibility to study in Hong Kong On registration, you must present your Hong Kong Permanent ID card or other valid documentation showing your eligibility to study in Hong Kong. We help you use English with confidence by providing highly-qualified teachers and specially designed courses to meet the needs of students progressing from Form 1 to Form 7. This year, we are proud to launch new courses that complement the New Senior Secondary (NSS) English curriculum and build on our strengths for helping you with confident spoken English. Our interactive teaching style helps you formulate and express views in speech and writing to develop your communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills. Our teachers use guided discovery approaches to help you understand and use new grammar and vocabulary. We give you regular feedback on your progress but also encourage you to assess yourself. These aspects develop your ability to study independently for school exams, further or higher education or in the workplace. It's not all serious though. The latest classroom technology makes learning interactive and fun. Our courses for Form 3 and 4 encourage creativity and skills development through language arts and non-language arts materials.
