Eligibility criteria: All international students, from any country outside of the EU, who apply to study an undergraduate or full-time postgraduate programme starting in September 2020 or January 2021 will automatically be considered for a scholarship of up to £5,000. Aston University welcomes students from all backgrounds. Global Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to students with strong academic backgrounds and English language levels.

The United Kingdom is a parliamentary democracy this means the government is elected by the people. There is a general election once every five years. The Prime Minister leads the government with the support of the cabinet and ministers.

The Queen is Head of State in the United Kingdom. As a constitutional monarch, Her Majesty does not "rule" the country, but the royal family fulfils important ceremonial and formal roles with respect to government.
