We represent Greek companies in Olives, Diary products, Peppers, and Stuffed Grape Leaves. All our suppliers are compliant with all FDA regulations and industry standards.
It all started 45 years ago when Yiannis Efstathiadis introduced to the market the first Roasted and Peeled Peppers. From his very early steps in life he was o ering with passion food products in the classic small streets region in the city of Thessaloniki. When the market needs for peeled roasted peppers emerged Yiannis took the opportunity to set up his small handmade production site. Few months later he was proud to present his first crop production of 700 tins and 100 jars for the local market which was hungry for much more. Soon after, the first export came and nowadays the 2nd generation family driven company NESTOS S.A. exports its products all over the world.
NESTOS S.A. production site is located in the center of the valley with the fertile fields where Nestos River flows. Our vegetables are grown in the region around our factory giving us the unique opportunity to process them fresh just a few hours after harvesting.
As a vertically integrated company, we have our own and contracting farming. Thus, we control the product chain from the seed to our customer’s depot.
NESTOS S.A. has about 700 acres of contracted farming where we control our own crops. And every year we are working close with more than 500 growers' families.
We provide our carefully selected seeds to our farmers. They are planted in protected nurseries, where the first stage of growing takes place, to create the healthy plants. Our vegetables are harvested when they are fully ripened, and are hand picked from the plants, one by one !!!

It is true that the first Greeks seems to have arrived in the USA at about the Greek Revolution period The main stream of immigrants appeared among 1900 and 1920, when it is estimated that about 350 000 Greeks arrived in Ellis Island, mainly from Peloponnese and Macedonia, with the hope to obtain a small fortune and return to their country Most of them staid in the Promised Land, establishing successful businesses and thus today the total number of people of Greek origin in the USA is estimated to about 1 500 000, the largest Greek community outside Greece Of all the Greeks in New York, most of them are gathered in the region of Astoria in Queens, where there are numerous Greek restaurants and cafes, since that was traditional the basic businesses activity of Greek immigrants in the USA In this region there has been developed a vibrant Greek-American community, that protects their special identity, orthodoxy, Greek costumes, music, dances and the Greek language, with churches, schools but also with the maintenance of all celebrations and costumes of mother-land. Many people of Greek nationality managed to obtain a significant place in various sections of public life We indicatively mention the Vice-President of the USA Spyros Angiou (Anagnostopoulos), the nominate president of the USA Michael Doukakis, the consultant of president Clinton Georrge Stefanopoulos, the director of CIA George Tenet, the great director Elias kazan, the actors Olympia Doukaki, John Stamos, Billy Zein, Jenifer Aniston (Telis Savalas earlier), the director John Kassavetis, the producer George Kosmatos, the sports-writer Bob Kostas,
and David
well as
Helen Alexopoulos and others Also, New York is the head of orthodox archbishopric and eparchy that fall under the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
Nikos Galis, for example, that great sportsman in basketball, one of the most important personalities of Greek athletics, was born in New Jersey in the USA and originates from Rhodes He graduated from the University of City Hall. As an undergraduate he came third as a scorer of NCAA with a.r. 27,5 points behind Balder and Berd, with individual score 48 against college Santa Clara
One more Greek, that was born in New York is Dimitris Hatzis (1921 -) a sculptor In New York he completed his first studies and continued in Athens and Rome where he stayed for more than twenty years. He returned to America in 1975 and a little aſter that he started teaching in the University of Harvard His sculpture in copper or hard stones draws elements from ancient Greek world and other ancient civilizations that are transformed in a modern pictorial language, starting from Abstraction
Let’s see an all-inclusive history of Hellenism of America, in the way it is given by the General Secretariat of Expatriate Hellenism:
The first Greek that is historically proved that reached America was a Don Teodoro that served in a Spanish ship and was killed by Indians in 1528, near todays Pensacola in Florida There are many non-proved information about
Greek mariners and captains that reached America on Spanish ships, but the first proven mass emigration of Greeks in America seems to have occurred in 1763, when Forida passed from Spanish procession to English. That period a Scottish doctor who got married to a Greek daughter of trader of London, decided to establish a colony using Greek immigrants Indeed, working with Italians and Minorcanes he managed to attract about 400 Greeks – mainly from Mani – and establish a colony which he named aſter Nea Smyrni (his wife origin was from Smyrna in Asia Minor), around 75 miles south from St. Augustine. The immigrants finally arrived at Florida in 1768 but the adverse conditions that they faced there lead half of them to death within two years and the rest in their moving to St. Augustine in 1977. During the middle of 18th century the traces of these first Greek immigrants were lost
The first Greek scientist that reached America was John Paradise, who was convinced to migrate by Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson Paradise got married in 1787, a woman from Ludwell family one of the most well-known of that period
Efstratios Delarof, a Greek from Peloponnese, was the head of the Russian traders in Alaska from 1783 to 1791 and is thought to be the first de facto governor in Alaska
The feelings of Philhellenism of Americans, during the independence revolution of 1821 – 1828, were expressed also with the transfer to America of lots of orphans. Most of these kids stayed and worked in the country that adopted them Some of them managed to excel like John Zachos, discrete educator, Evangelos Sophocles, professor of Greek in the University of Harvard, Lucas Miltiades Miller, the first Greek-American member of the Congress (1891-1893) and later Michael Anagnos that was in charge of Perkins Institution for blinds in Boston.
Shortly aſter that, around 1850, another group of Greeks appeared in America. It was comprised of a small number of Greek traders who established businesses of importexport in small harbors, like in cities of New York, San Francisco, Boston, Savannah, Galveston, and New Or-
leans At the same period some hundreds (a significant number for that time) of Greek mariners leſt the ships on which they reached America and started working in ships of the area of the Big Lakes or in steam vessels in Mississippi Some of them became fishermen for oysters in the States around the Gulf of Mexico. The period of the mass migration of Greeks to America starts in 1890 and continuous until 1920 The main reason of the migration was the financial redress Greece of that period could hardly service its agricultural population, resulting to this population to seek its fortune elsewhere The goal of these immigrants was to obtain some financial comfort that would allow them to return and live a better life in Greece.
In 1880 decade, approximately 2.000 Greeks, mainly from Sparta, arrived in America This number becomes 15 000 the next decade and comes from all over Greece In the first decade of 20th century, about 167 000 Greek immigrants reach America, while in decade between 1911-1920 despite the difficulties of A’ World War, this number becomes 180 000 It should be noted that these numbers refer to people born in Greece, while there is no exact elements for Greek immigrants that were born outside Greece the number of whom must have been about 100 000 Thus, the period 1890-1920, more than 450.000 Greeks migrated to America, mainly men. With the restriction of migration to America (Reed-Johnson Act), in 1924, there were allowed only 100 immigrants from Greece every year This number must be compared with the 28.000 Greeks that reached America the last year of free migration, in 1921 In 1929, the annual number of permitted immigrants from Greece came up to 307 and stayed that way for the next 30 years Still, immigrants out of boundaries (usually spouses and husbands of the already residents in America) went on coming, resulting to the average pace of migration to be around 20.000 people annually for the period of 19251930.
Great number of Greek immigrants start to appear again in the aſter-war period Even though the number of permitted immigrants for every year remained 307, in 1948 the legislation that was related to the refugees permitted loaning from aſter-years resulting in 1952 the number of immigrants from Greece to have borrowed from 2 014! Making use of all the beneficial provisions of the American legislation about migration and the respective displaced or relatives of the American citizens, a total number of about 70 000 Greeks (including those that came as students) migrated in America from B’ World War until 1965. The legislation about migration of 1965 changed the method of selection of immigrants, banning the criterion of country of origin Thus, between 1966 and 1971, about 15 000 Greeks were coming to America every year. From the middles of 1970 decade, this number has almost been stable at about 8 000 people per year

1860 Efstathios Barbayannis with origin from Naxos and Andros reaches the fertile land of Plomari Lesvos carrying experience and knowledge on the distillation from Odessa Russia. tional method. The passion of six generations Barbayanni for the acquisition of perfection in the field of taste and preservation of old distillation techniques have resulted in the name of Barbayiani family being identified word wide with the name of the most selected Greek drink, ouzo.

Introducing “DELOS” – A New Name in International Markets
“DELOS” is a newly launched brand designed to bring innovative, health-focused products to international consumers. Building on the foundation of well-known conventional o erings, “DELOS” distinguishes itself by introducing unique products—some of which are not yet available globally. At the heart of the brand lies the Mediterranean Diet, serving as both inspiration and cornerstone for its product range.
The name “DELOS” draws its inspiration from Greek mythology. According to the myth, Artemis and Apollo were the twin children of Zeus and Leto, born from Zeus’s extramarital a air. Hera, Zeus’s wife, forbade Leto from giving birth on solid land, leaving her without refuge. Only the island of Delos o ered her sanctuary, where she gave birth to her twins. Artemis, born first, assisted her mother in delivering Apollo. Revered as a goddess of childbirth and protector of young children—especially girls—Artemis played a pivotal role in Greek mythology.
This connection to Delos symbolizes protection, nurturing, and beginnings, making it a fitting name for a brand committed to health and well-being.
Delos product range will include the following products:
• Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• Feta PDO (Protected Designation of Origin)
• Strained Yogurt
• Cream Cheese
• Juices
With its launch, “DELOS” has already secured commercial agreements in several key markets: Germany • Italy • USA • China • Scandinavian Countries Looking ahead, the brand aims to expand into Middle Eastern markets and deepen its presence across Europe.
“DELOS” is not just a brand—it is a commitment to bringing the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet to the world, paired with innovation and care for consumers’ health.
