WETLANDS EDUCATION AND RECREATION CENTER WADE INTO WETLANDS SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP - FULL DAY (cont.) GRADES 4-6 July 8-12, Forest Adventures: Take a journey through the layers of the forest and discover the wildlife that call them home. Experiences will include hikes through the Piney Woods, the rainforest at Moody Gardens, and so much more! July 22-26, Aqua World: Learn all about the different types of water around Baytown and their importance. Explore the animals and plants that find their habitat in each of them. Finish the week off with a splash at Pirate’s Bay. August 12-16, Creeping Things: Reptiles rule at the Wetlands Center. Meet and greet several different types of reptiles including alligators, snakes, bearded dragons, skunks and turtles. Learn about their distinct characteristics and habitats. GRADES 7-10 June 10-14, Wild Jobs: Are you interested in working in the great outdoors or with animals? Spend a week learning about various outdoor career opportunities. Experience many behind-the-scenes adventures with our fun, interactive field trips. June 24-28, MOVE: Learn how things MOVE during this week long camp of physics. Study how roller coasters and water slides work during field studies at Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier and Pirates Bay! July 1-3, Advanced Anglers: Master Anglers with two prior years of fishing camps learn fly fishing and other advanced techniques. The week ends with an exciting bay-fishing trip in Galveston Bay.

July 29-August 1, Lit-early Rocks!: Unearth your inner “rock star” studying geology. Learn about the Earth’s rocky past through science experiments, outside exploration and fun field trips including an overnight field experience!

THE BAYTOWN NATURE CENTER Baytown Nature Center, located at 6213 Bayway Drive, is a 500-acre peninsula surrounded by Burnet, Crystal and Scott Bays. It consists of hardwood uplands, high quality tidal marsh, and freshwater wetlands. This former residential subdivision (Brownwood) now features picnic shelters, four fishing piers, two pavilions and two overlooks. There’s also the Crystal Bay Butterfly Garden, the Children’s Nature Discovery Area, the Myra C. Brown Bird Sanctuary and approximately seven miles of hiking trails.
