To mark the 400 year anniversary since Shakespeare’s death we had two very exciting speakers for our April 2016 Town Hall Talk.
Gregg Buzzwell, Curator Shakespeare in Ten Acts (British Library April 15th - September 6th), discussed the exhibition that charts the creation and reception of iconic productions across generations of theatre-goers. Colin Thom, Senior Historian (Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL) and co-editor of the Survey of London double-volume study of Battersea, discussed 'Battersea's Shakespeare Theatre' - an important Victorian theatre that once stood next door to Battersea Arts Centre, built in 1896 to designs by W. G. R. Sprague, the leading theatre architect of the day.
