RSPB NEW FOREST LOCAL GROUP The New Forest local group of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds are hosting an on-line Zoom talk at 7.30pm on Weds 9th June by Peter Holden MBE. He will present ‘In the Steps of the Vikings,’ a nature talk with a difference including wildlife from Britain’s Northern Isles to Norway, Faroes, Greenland and Canada. Peter spent his career with the RSPB and is the author of the ‘RSPB Handbook of British Birds’ and devised the ‘Big Garden Birdwatch.’ Currently all indoor and outdoor meetings are suspended due to Covid-19 restrictions. This talk would have been followed by wine and nibbles if we had been able to use the Memorial Hall, our usual venue. The lecture takes place via Zoom on Thursday 10th June at 10.30am. Oakhaven Wellbeing Bereavement services are open to all. You don’t need to have lost a loved one at Oakhaven to find support. There are now coffee morning sessions taking place every week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am until 12noon at the Coates Centre, Lower Pennington Lane, Lymington SO41 8ZZ, where you can come and have a cuppa, meet others who are also going through bereavement, and find information and advice to help you cope. At the moment due to social distancing guidelines you do need to book, and can do so by telephoning 01590 638521 (there is an answer machine so do please leave a message and someone will get back to you) or you can email wellbeing@oakhavenhospice.co.uk with your contact details.
