NEWS LETTER March 2017 EDITION
Sale the 4th Most Desirable Place to Live National Recognition Sale residents and businesses have evidence that their area is extra special. Research by the Centre for Economics and Business Research and Royal Mail, revealed M33 to be the fourth most desirable place to live in England. While this honour may be news to some, this green, attractive part of Trafford has great housing, schools, green spaces and fantastic transport links. Couple these with good employment prospects and work/life balance and the reasons for this national recognition is very clear.
Sale Town Partnership’s Christmas Lights Switch On 2016 Highlights The 2016 Sale Christmas Light Switch On was a festive event to tell everyone know that Christmas is around the corner. Square Shopping Centre was the focal point where hundreds of people were entertained by dance, music, singing and Nomads Theatre company. As well as the music and fun the Farmers Market and Kiddies Funfair along School Road were equally busy with families wishing to sample dishes, buy extra special gifts or just letting the little ones have a good time. Meanwhile in Sale Library were hosting Design a Bauble workshops led by Two by Two Hurrah with AC Academy Irish Dance Group and singing by Little Belters Choir. At dusk, Santa appeared and made his way to his amazing magical Grotto where he distributed sweets for the huge number of children waiting for him. Then Santa was whisked away by Sale Cruising Club to deliver presents to children around the world. Vao Restaurant and The King’s Ransom put on entertainment and food for families throughout the day and well into the evening. The Design a Christmas Advent Door Competition was once again a great success. Sale Town businesses very generously donated 25 prizes for the talented Sale school children. A big thanks to Two by Two Hurrah for supporting Sale Town Partnership. Michelle Starling, Sale Town Partnership Chair and the owner of Bean and Brush Café said, “I want to thank all Square Shopping Centre, other businesses, performers, “Two by Two Hurrah” and Robina Sheikh, Trafford Council’s Communities Officer, for the part each of them played in making the Christmas Light Switch he best ever. Our wish is that the 2017 will be bigger and better with continued support from all partners. Christmas Light Switch On will take place on Saturday 25th November and we want you to be involved”.

Sale, with its thriving town centre, nationally celebrated Waterside Arts Centre, attractive parks including the Waterpark and the Bridgewater Canal demonstrates its desirability which has now been acknowledged nationally. Being in fourth place shows just what a great place it is for the communities who have made their home in Sale. Belinda Hayes from STL Projects Ltd, a Sale based structural engineering company said “Sale is a really interesting mix of people and places, but there is definite community spirit.
