According to this analysis, 29% of the conditioning efforts should be centered in shading, 34% in dehumidification and 54.6% in cooling.

SUN AND WIND CHART

The charts show the sun will hit the surface of the dwellings almost di rectly. The windows should be located in west and east facades and try to evade north windows, as well as located in the south-east and nor th-east for good ventilation .

The area of Carmen Alto is characterized by its natural terraces and connection with the agricultural heritage of Arequipa. As one of the first suburban areas in Arequipa, Carmen Alto used to have great traditional and cultural relevance, being cataloged as a “traditional village”. Nonetheless, nowa days the area is partially neglected, by the authorities and the population, presenting several urban problems that detract from its original value. The present proyect treats the main problems starting with a systemic analysis and finally arrives to constructive and architectonic solutions.

After the following systemic analysis we arrived at the conclusion that the project would promote the communon between the members of the commu nity, revitalize the dying agricultural activities, create new job possibilities, reorganize the neglected vegetation, the traffic and transportation system.
Physical-enviromental system: Re po tentiating the population interest in the agricultural production with edu cation
Transportation and accesibility sys tem: By re implementing activities to attract people from other sectors and by proposing pedestrian streets

Socio economic system: Creating a pleasant open space to attract tourists as well as locals and opening multiple job opportunities
Normative and urban image system: Implementing natural materials, res pecting the normativity and reopening the visuals

Cultural inmaterial heritage system: By fomenting the community, values and tradition through education

Grid and Axels
The two differentiated grids respond to the morphology of the surroun dings of the building, since the shape of the prediterrene is irregular.

EDUCATION: The innovative educational system thrives to give a new identity to the population, through the connection with nature, transparencies, visuals, and constant presence of vegetation.

SUSTAINABILITY: It covers the three aspects of sustainability Nature: Proposing agricultural terrains that serve as a learning space for the wor kshops for adults. While using the preexitent aqueducts to distribute water. Social: Generates a point of interest and different activities within the community. Economic: Offers employments such as cleaning, nursing, psychology, etc.

INTEGRATION: Adapting to the natural relief, growing and descending with the natural ground. It is almost rests on top of it, modifying as minimum as possible.

Section one is composed by first and second level flats, located on the proximity to the “ca lle mirador”

Section two consists of first level flats and duplex located on the second and third level.

CONCEPT: Arequipa´s countryside is a very special aspect of the city, thanks to the beauty of the views and the presence of the Inca Natural terraces.nThis project reuses this idea of superposition and natural translation, allowing the building to have more visual possibilities and unique conditioning for each dwelling, aside from providing an integrated landscape and mimicry with this preserved area. We propose flats and duplex, whose principal quality is the accessibi lity to several green spaces, as gardens or natural terraces. a aspect almost forgotten nowadays in the city.

ITINERANT MARKET

LUCIA
THE PROBLEM :
Before the pandemic started, in Arequipa all food related products where usually sold in big closed spaces called “mercados”. However, the new normality forced our society to come up with a different form of market, the itinerant market. This new establi shments, despite supplying the necessary space for its function are still improvised and lacking of commodities.
THE SOLUTION: EPHEMERAL MEETINGS
Our project is developed around the fleeting and interpersonal relations, being collapsible, lightweight and fast, but at the same time, favors the healthy encounters in times in which the isolation has become the norm. Not only it proposes the friendly meeting, but at the same time the reunion with the environment and the city itself.

The main piece of the artifact being the main structure, made of larcore A2 covered by isolating white paint.
Additionally we added optional shelving and a chest of drawers, according to the use the user could give to the module.

1.MODULE MOVEMENT:
When the module is completely closed it can be easily moved.
Terraced by steel plates: Plates on U shape, designed to mantain the two modules ensambled. They are placed on the front appa rel and the back plegable legs.

3. STORAGE SPACES::
Unfolding the back apparel (contained in side the front aparell) with the built in plat form that serves as floor.
ASSEMBLY OF PIECES
2. FIRST OPENING
The covering plates are unfolded, thanks to the built- in hinges.
4. COMPLETE MODULE: Installation of movable shelves and chest drawers.
ADAPTABLE ORGANIZATION: PROPOSED SCENARIOS Possible arrangements

Under the tutoring of: Edward Chuquimia Payalich
Made with sketchup, vray, photoshop, procreate and lightroomProposed and preexistent urban centralities: Through a study of the preexistent centralities and different activities that took place in the Ejercito avenue, we proposed a series of different equipments that help potentiate and organize the avenue and it’s role for the city.

Brief and proposal: We studied several issues that could affect its development before proposing a final form, such as a brief, objectives, an analysis of the context, and the necessities that the new equipment should solve to fulfill its purpose.
Museum culture: Promo tes the knowledge and use of museums through programs.
Global connection: Promotes curiosi ty, experimentation and collaboration
Innovation and collaboration: A space ideal for teams to develop and test new ideas.

Security and confiden ce: Safe space for dialog.
Grow together: Foments activi ties that potentiate reforestation

Genius Locci and volumetric exploration: The ma teriality of the area is characterized by the vegetative presence, and the preexistent historical monuments
Configuration and physical tension Configuration and physical tension
General axis: generated by La recoleta street and tensions given by the Grau bridge and La recoleta church.

Transformation: The integration of 3 volumes layered on top containing activities.
Horizontal predomination: Interrupted by the presence of lavered horizontal volumes.

Value: With shapes of light life and space is formed. Because once someone said: space is nothing more than light. Where there is light, there is space.

SHEET N° 34
THE PANDEMIC SERIES II: fire |
FABIANA LUCIA BARRA TORANZO
Value: When the pandemic hitted the city, many peo ple were used to finding the enjoyment of life outside themselves. Through this piece I emulate how the fire within us is the one thing needed to light up our whole

THE PANDEMIC SERIES III: reflection |

FABIANA LUCIA BARRA TORANZO
Value: As a continuation of “fire” this piece talks about the immense possibilities that we can find within ourselves. It is not necessary to look outside for answers that are already with us. By staring into our reflection, that could be interpreted as time spent with our grates selfs in solitude, we can begin to diffe rentiate de connotation and dimensions of the self.
PIECE 06

Value: The beautiful thing about animation and drawing, is the distortion that we create when we play with perspective. In this piece, I try to emulate this very same effect, with the help of different textures and poses.
