Volunteers Week A team of volunteers have pledged to help Barnsley Hospital Charity on a regular basis. The charity team is a small team of 2 members of staff and without the support of these amazing volunteers, the charity would not have been able to make such a huge impact in supporting our staff wellbeing during the pandemic and beyond.

We are indebted to the team and send our sincere thanks and gratitude for everything our volunteers have achieved over the past 12 months. They have undertaken just short of a 1,000 hours to support us with activities including helping us distribute over £100,000 worth of donations for our staff and patients and also have been a key part of helping us provide so many amazing funded charity initiatives. These have included preparing and packing 5000 thank you packs, 1200 nurses and midwives treats, afternoon teas, refreshment packs for all areas to name just a few. Some of our volunteers were required to shield but that didn't stop them, they were still been fundraising and also helping us from home for which we are very grateful. Since the start of 2022 the volunteers have taken on a more active role in fundraising for our Make A Memory Appeal. They have been involved in setting up and running stalls on a weekly basis in the hospital and engaging staff to support our work with donations in kind and fundraising. In 12 weeks they have raised over £5,000 for the appeal with this effort. We couldn't do our amazing work without you - you are simply the best!!!!
