On behalf of Adair Creek Farms, we are very excited to issue our first catalog highlighting our 2025 Yearling Bulls on offer by Private Treaty. Over the past number of years, we have been successfully selling bulls off the farm. To our repeat customers, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and belief in us as your Angus bull supplier. To our potential new customers, we look forward to earning your trust and doing our part to set you up for success both today and in the future. Our success is only achieved by your success with these bulls. That is something we will never lose sight of and will keep us determined to grow forward.
Our approach to breeding cattle is similar to how we operate the farm - keep it simple. We strive to find quality bulls backed by strong, proven cow families. Once we have found that bull, we draw semen off him and use him in our extensive AI program, along with other proven AI bulls in the industry. After a cycle of AI is complete, the bull will then be exposed to the cows for clean-up.
The cow herd needs to be structurally sound, strong footed, well-tempered, efficient and in a low-to-no maintenance package. For us, they need to calve on their own, and that calf needs to have the vigor to get up, nurse and survive. The cows need to be able to convert feed to body condition and lactate, especially in those winter months when they are calving and working hard to battle the harsh elements mother nature can throw at us! We simply do not have the time to deal with problem cows or calves.
In the pen of yearling bulls, you will find both heifer and performance bulls. These bulls go on creep feed prior to weaning, allowing an easy transition to feed at weaning time. Once weaned, they go on hay and are pail fed a pellet or grain. Closer to winter, they are transitioned to the TMR, providing them with a balanced ration. The bulls are wintered in a large paddock to encourage exercise and movement, which in turn promotes optimal skeletal and structural soundness.
If you have any questions on bulls, females, or anything else, please feel free to contact us any time. We encourage anyone interested in the bulls to stop by and see them in person and also tour the cows and calves. We know there are a lot of bull options out there, so again we want to thank you for taking the time to view our 2025 offering.
Sincerely,
Lanz & Candice Cieckiewicz
