"Theintroductionofthe $20millionfreetoenter, freetorunSaudiCupasaninternational raceiswithout doubtthemostsignificant eventinthehistoryofhorse racingintheKingdomofSaudiArabia"
"For
centuries the horse has been central to Arabian culture. It is, therefore, hugely exciting that as of 2020 Saudi Arabia will play host to the world’s richest horse race."
The introduction of the $20 million free to enter, free to run Saudi Cup as an international race is without doubt the most significant event in the history of horse racing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and demonstrates our resolve to develop this great sport, and also our ambition to becomea leading player on horseracing’s world stage.
For centuries the horse has been central to Arabian culture. It is, therefore, hugely exciting that as of 2020 Saudi Arabia will play host to the world’s richest horse race. In years to come, we will be delighted if the Saudi Cup can attract the finest horses and become one of the more sought-after races to participate in and watch.
In addition to the feature race, we are excited to be able to offer such a diverse undercard witha total purse of $29.2 million, with all races being free to enter, free to run. It is our hope that the introduction of turf racing here in Riyadh will pave the way fora broader racing following among our people, while allowing local owners and trainers opportunities for all types of racehorse, both thoroughbred and purebred arabian, over a variety of different distances, and on two different surfaces.
WhiletheSaudiCupisan eventthatwillfeaturesomeofthebesthorses and most skilled jockeys in the world, it also showcases the heritage and ambition of Saudi Arabia. It is our hope that this marvellous day of sport will excite new generations with the thrill of racing.
We look forward to horsemen making their free nominations to the Saudi Cup card by January 7, 2020, and then welcoming them alongside the media, racing enthusiasts and the public to King Abdulaziz Racecourse, Riyadh in 2020.

re are 10 barns of six boxes each in the Isolation Stable area with a minimum of meters between each barn. Horse contact areas are double fenced wit vemeter separation between the fences.
Each barn is a separate unit that is separated from the other barns by mesh fencing with signs indicating that this is a restricted area, with 24/7 security.
Isolation barn is completely enclosed with vector screening to prevent insects from entering the barn is reduces the chance of a disease spreading to the horses and provides a comfortable environment for the horses. Each box within the isolation barn measures approximately 3.6 metres by 3.6 meters oor has a nonslip rubberized surface with an open area protected by vector screening over the breezeway to allow plenty of light and air into the barns
Each barn has a large central breezeway, approximately 4 meters wide, to allow multiple horses to enter and leave the barn at the same time and also with a very high ceiling to produce a large volume barn e large volume reduces the chance of diseases spreading by the respiratory route from one horse to another.
Each separate barn is linked by a sand track to a light work track. entire isolation complex is approximately 400 meters (1/4 mile) from the main track.
Horses will be permitted to train on the main track, both dirt and turf, at training times organized according to the regional group to which the horse belongs. Apart from the time of racing, all horses will be kept separated in the regional groups.
