AN ILLUSTRIOUS EQUINE BACKGROUND

Coming from a notorious equestrian family, Nicolas has grown up surrounded by horses. At a very early age, he started showjumping and progressed into becoming an Amateur Jockey.

Attracted by the training side of the industry, he learned from the best, he became Pupil Assistant to Christophe Clement and Luca Cumani before serving as Pascal Bary’s Assistant in Chantilly.

Pascal showed him how important it is to know everything about every single horse in the yard, including their pedigree. He believes observation is the key factor to training successfully.

Nicolas then went on to train independently with great success. He has had over 300 winners (over flat and jumps), including Group and Listed winners. Amongst them Gemix 2 x Champion Hurdle Gr.1 winner.

A NATURAL TRANSITION TO BLOODSTOCK AGENT

Since 2005 Nicky has been purchasing horses on behalf of clients alongside his training career.

He then trains the horses purchased, where he can watch them evolve through every stage of development from sales to racecourse. This has given him invaluable knowledge and a unique insight into their behaviours, temperament, qualities and physical type.

Focusing on his passion and talents, Nicky became a Bloodstock Consultant for Tattersalls for 4 years whilst starting his Bloodstock agency in 2017. Since then, he already illustrated his selection skills with 36 Group race winners, including 14 Gr.1’s in Flat and National Hunt from horses purchased.
