Jaguar E-Type, Series 3.

Jaguar’s E-Type was introduced in 1961 as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer, with a two-seater coupé, a two-seater convertible and a four-seater version of the coupé being initially released.

The Series 3 was introduced in 1971 with a 5.3 litre Jaguar V12 engine, updated brakes and standard power steering. The V12, equipped with four Zenith carburettors, produced 272 hp with a 0-60 mph acceleration of less than seven seconds.

With a longer wheelbase, offering significantly more room in all directions, the Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, and four distictive large exhaust tips, along with a chrome badge on the rear door proclaiming ‘V12’.

The Series 3 was available as a convertible and 2+2 coupé only and Jaguar produced 15,287. The final production model was built in June 1974.

Tremola San Gottardo, Ticino, Switzerland.

Located in the Canton of Ticino, the Tremola San Gottardo connects the municipality of Airolo (1175m) to the Gotthard Pass (2106m). It is the longest road monument in Switzerland and one of the highest paved roads in Europe.

Located on the left flank of the Val Tremola, the road between Göschenen and Airolo was originally built between 1827 and 1832, with the road seen today dating from 1951.

Six to seven meters wide and flanked by supporting walls up to eight meters high, a substantial part of the road is still granite paving. At its most spectacular, it climbs a height of 300 meters in 24 hairpin bends covering a length of four kilometres.
