Author Visits to Support Florida House Well known author Randy Wayne White and his wife Wendi Webb were in town to sign copies of his latest book and support fundraising efforts for Florida House, a state embassy of sorts in Washington, DC. Most of White’s novels are set in south Florida, particularly the Keys, and involve mysteries with a lot of fishing thrown in for color. He is a long time acquaintance and fishing buddy of Corbett Davis, Jr so it was appropriate that his evening in Pensacola began at Jewelers Trade Shop where a hundred or so fans turned out to hear the author and also his talented wife as she entertained on piano. The party moved on to a trolley that took them to the Portofino boat at Palafox Marina for a trip across the bay to Portofino Beach Resort and a poolside cocktail buffet. Guests included John and Kristine Connell; Hal and Suellen Hudson; Lewis and Belle Bear; Teri Levin; Debbi Wein; Bobby and Jane Switzer; State Senator Don Gaetz; Larry and Dianne Robbins; Scott Mitchell; Delories Richerson; and Ray and Valerie Russenberger. Celebrate Their Lives A very sad farewell to Dr. Bruce Raymon and also Coach Artie Davis. Dr. Raymon’s many friends gathered at Beach Community Church for the service he scripted himself. A party in his honor was held afterwards at his favorite watering hole, The Sandbar. Artie Davis, long-time coach and teacher at Gulf Breeze High School, was one of Auburn’s most loyal fans. Both men made a difference in this community and will be truly missed.
