“Testingring final circuit has always been a pain,” said Brendan Beaver, manager of Metrel UK, the innovator of electrical test solutions. “It is complicated and fiddly, consequently it is time consuming. Ayala Bar’s Classic Collection

With her new Classic Collection, Ayala Bar has recreated a theme expressing her ‘collage like’ visions within a variety of colour groups. This season’s line reveals a whole new effect, one of added sparkle & luminosity. It’s a fresh look which has resulted, in part, from the use of new unique beads which benefit from a special coating.

Fable England

Fable’s narrative prints with a subtle Morris influence feature throughout the collection, applied to soft accessories, jewellery and bags including embroidered bags and crossbody pouches. Inspired by classic British literature. Designed & crafted with an infinite love of nature.

The Classic Collection shows a great deal of detailed craftsmanship, revealing structures within a tapestry of magnificent colours. Although somewhat reminiscent of Ayala’s earlier works, this colourful and dramatic line also projects the artist’s current state of individuality.

ZSISKA jewellery is made of resin and can be combined with other high quality materials such as 24k gold leaf and pure silver leaf. ZSISKA’s style is bold, with resin as clear as glass and very light in weight. These developed techniques resulted in jewellery that is easy and very pleasant to wear!

ANGLOPLAS®: Technology in plastic

Angloplas is a UK manufacturer which specialises in producing dispensers for the health and hygiene industry. Although these are designed to keep the workplace tidy and uncluttered they are, more importantly, built knowing the control of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) are a priority for healthcare providers, and who are employing a combination of infection prevention and control strategies, including hand hygiene, cleaning, training and the adoption of new technologies, to tackle the problem.

As a result, a wide range of infection control products and technologies is emerging on the market, including antimicrobial technology. Angloplas’ range of dispensers is produced in the world’s first proven Antimicrobial PVC with silver ion technology and which is exclusive to Angloplas. This helps reduce the risk of cross infection by stopping the growth of bacteria and mould and works continuously for the lifetime of the product, reducing levels of bacteria such as MRSA, E Coli, Legionella, Salmonella and mould by up to 99.99%.

You can order Angloplas products directly from its website by going to www.angloplas.co.uk and clicking Hospital, Health and Hygiene or view and/or download the latest catalogue and price list by using the Quick Response code. Reward and recognition platform

Recent studies suggest that businesses with a more engaged team had 17% higher productivity within their workforce. This also results in 21% higher profitability. This can be achieved without breaking the bank, as it is recognised that employers are feeling the effects of the cost-of-living crisis, as well as employees. That is why Terryberry’s solution is designed to solve the problem for both.

Ian Feaver, Managing Director at Terryberry UK, said, “The cost-ofliving crisis is bringing a new set of challenges for people across the country, and having a catastrophic effect on both the financial and personal wellbeing for those affected.

“This is also having a severe impact on employers, who have already been facing huge challenges in retaining and engaging people. A full workforce of highly engaged people is critical to business success, yet with around 1.3 million job vacancies, many companies are understaffed, and morale is low.”

Terryberry offers a reward and recognition platform, designed to create a more engaging work environment for employees, increase morale within the team and delivering a more productive and efficient workforce.

Miko Coffee since 1801

The Miko Coffee story began in Belgium over two hundred and twenty years ago in a town called Turnhout by our founder Leo Michielsen and has since grown into one of the largest coffee roasters in Europe. Throughout history, we have remained committed to producing high-quality coffee products while being socially and environmentally responsible.

In the early years, we focused on producing and selling roasted coffee beans to local businesses and individuals. However, the company expanded the offer, adding new products such as ground

coffee, coffee pods, and other coffee-related products. In the mid-20th Century, Miko Coffee expanded its operations beyond Belgium, opening new facilities and distribution centres in other countries. Today, the company has a presence in over forty countries worldwide, propelling

us as one of the top coffee roasters in Europe.

In recent years, we have continued to innovate and expand its product offerings, focusing on meeting coffee consumers’ changing tastes and preferences worldwide. From our humble beginnings as a small roasting business in Belgium to its current status as a global leader in the coffee industry, the history of Miko Coffee is a testament to its enduring popularity and importance in our world.

Using technology to address the patient discharge crisis

The NHS is currently facing a patient discharge crisis, with one third of all beds filled by someone who is fit to be discharged. This is a major problem for the health and social care sector, with delays to hospital discharges costing the NHS £820m annually. Longer stays in hospital are also associated with increased risk of infection, low mood, and reduced motivation. Crucially, the cause of nearly a third of all delays is the lack of an appropriate support package being put in place. MiiCare’s technology is currently being used across the country to address this problem. We use our conversation-based AI-technology to support the process of discharging patients from hospital. Using nonconventional methods of collecting and analysing data (gait, voice and conversation), we can provide health insights that have previously not been available. These insights, in addition to established clinical data sources (like blood pressure and heart rate), are used to help assess overall wellbeing of patients in the home environment following a discharge.

MiiCare’s AI-led product supports older people, and is designed to reduce delays, improve patient care, and save the NHS money.

Some of the key features we can implement are:

u Automate and schedule patient care assessments

u Use conversations between the patient and Monica, our voice assistant, to evaluate mental health status

u Step in if symptoms of delirium/ hallucinations/delusions are detected

u Analyse changes in voice patterns to identify possible symptoms of RTIs

u Apply clinical gait analysis on the patient’s footstep recordings to evaluate physical fitness, gait abnormality, and risk of fall

u Build a comprehensive digital health record depicting the overall patient wellbeing from

conversations, gait and vitals data captured in their home

u Reduce number of patients needing to be discharged to a 24 hour residential care setting

u Provide 24/7 interactive virtual support to users that can help reassure them and their families

Our approach puts users at the heart of the design process. We use their knowledge, experience, and expertise to build something that really works for them. We also work with families, care providers, and doctors to make sure that what we have built meets their needs too.

Having undertaken numerous trials and assessments, the MiiCare solution is now scaling and rolling out across the country. Solutions like ours are essential to make sure that patients are discharged safely to their own homes, and that the immense strain on the NHS operations and budgets is relieved.

A small investment in care home furniture can lead to huge savings elsewhere. How?

Rise and recline chairs enable residents to sit with their feet elevated and their backs reclined. This is extremely comfortable, plus a great position for circulation, joint pain and relaxation.

To change position, just press a button; good news for pressure sore avoidance. The same applies when the resident is ready to leave the chair… tap a button to gently stand.

Usually, care home staff are responsible for helping residents sit, get comfortable and stand. And let’s be

realistic, this is demanding physical work. So not only do rise and recline chairs improve quality of life for the resident, they are immensely beneficial for staff too. As for adjustable beds, it’s the same story. Residents may need to sleep at an elevated angle, or with their feet raised, depending on health needs. They may require help getting out of bed, and some adjustable beds do that too. Again, these are aspects of care that usually involve staff bending at awkward angles.

The impact of appropriate care home furniture can be measured in monetary terms; better health saves money. But more importantly, they can be assessed by the quality of life of residents and staff alike. The simplest changes can have far reaching consequences.

The House of Commons Health & Social Care Committee has reported an extra 490,000 jobs would be needed in social care by the early part of next decade. Automated lateral patient turning repositioned

Healthcare providers and carers are often required to reposition their patients 24 hours a day to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers. This can be very time consuming, ineffective, requires significant resources, can introduce risk to staff and patients, and might not be well tolerated.

Toto® from Frontier Medical Group is an automatic lateral turning system designed to assist with patient turning. With a powered control unit and a turning platform fitted beneath the patients’ mattress, Toto automatically turns patients at user-defined intervals, relieving pressure over their most vulnerable areas.

Toto offers consistent & controlled automated lateral patient turning intervals, supporting singlehanded care, in a lightweight, easy to use and set-up format.

Toto effectively redistributes patients’ peak pressures by tilting via discreet inflatable air cells; evenly, smoothly, and consistently even when they are sleeping. Toto offers a superior patient experience, improving compliance & resulting in enhanced outcomes.

Toto aids clinicians and carers in the regular turning of patients. The unique turning platform, placed under the existing mattress is designed to gently turn patients

at regular intervals, supporting anyone who cares for the patient, and offering a new approach to ‘Two Hourly’ or ‘Night-time’ turning.

Control your water with a flick of a switch

Surestop is a unique Stopcock, protecting properties from water damage. With a simple flick of a switch, Surestop will STOP the water supply. Easier to use than brass stopcocks. Without the use of batteries or electrics, working on water pressure alone.

In many homes, a brass stopcock is the last line of defence from water damage. They are often inaccessible or fitted in a hard-to-reach location and susceptible to seizing up, making it longer & harder to stop the water supply. If someone is unable to turn off their water in an emergency or when they leave their home for long periods of time, even a small leak could cause significant damaged to a property.

With the simple flick of the switch, the Surestop stopcock instantly turns off the water to a sink, toilet, whole bathroom, kitchen, or the entire property, dependent upon the installation site. It is an easily installed and a low-cost safety measure that should

be considered in every property.

The Surestop is WRAS approved, no maintenance & is limescale resistant so will never seize up. Surestop provides peace of mind for you and your home. www.surestop.co.uk

Come and see us at PPMA Total Show from 26-28 September 2023.

The name of the new range was chosen in recognition of its ‘easy to dose’ characteristics, as Paul Twiss, Head of Marketing at Cleenol, explains, “Our Evolution Super Concentrates system redefined cleaning chemicals. As part of the range, we had created an additional system that ran parallel with our wall mounted dosing systems, one where the need for additional hardware wasn’t required. We looked at the range and asked ourselves what makes this product so powerful and unique. The obvious answer was the superior cleaning power of each product within the range, but, additionally, how easy it is to dose these products. This is why we were proud to introduce the new brand Easidose.”

Each bottle of Easidose has a specially designed measuring cup built directly into the bottle. Also embedded in the bottle is a feed tube which connects from the bottom of the bottle to the measuring cup above. Our universal heavy-duty refill flasks (Flasks for Life) are available as part of the Easidose range and an updated Evolution 1.5 litre range. Both brands share a similar design, so the new flasks show both Easidose and Evolution logos.

The new Easidose range comprises multi-surface cleaners and degreasers, floor cleaners, anti-bacterial bath and washroom cleaners, air fresheners, window and stainless-steel cleaners and toilet cleaners.

Cleenol’s client portfolio includes local authorities, government departments and appointed distributors throughout the UK and worldwide, as well as wholesalers and stockists in a range of marketplaces.

The sectors it supplies to include cleaning and FM, hospitality, laundry, hotels and housekeeping, manufacturing, construction and flooring contractors, automotive and transport, tourism and leisure, education, healthcare and hairdressing.

Lift and escalator sterilisation

UK

TECH firm, OXONOX, has revealed the ‘industry-leading’ results of its AirLift and AirStair products, designed for the lift and escalator market.

Designed to restore the public’s confidence in post-pandemic hygiene with all restrictions removed, helping to improve wellbeing, especially at work, OXONOX’s two controlled plasma sterilisation solutions, AirLift™ and AirStair™ have demonstrated that they provide round-theclock protection against viruses and bacteria when using lifts and escalators. Reducing the microbiological load continually by 90% on average, both in the air and on surfaces, outside of sterile laboratory conditions. This statistic is key as it demonstrates the products’ effectiveness in real world environments, as opposed to laboratory settings.

Based on independent testing in public settings, OXONOX AirLift and AirStair both reduce the microbiological load by 90%+, reducing the risk of transmission when in lifts, and from contaminated escalator handrails.

OXONOX has harnessed new UK technology to offer continuous and much more effective protection than available before to significantly reduce the risk of catching something as we move about, restriction-free, in our daily lives.

Oddies Textiles

With over 30 years’ expertise in providing high quality UK storage and racking solutions to our clients, WP Group are recognised specialists in the design, specification and installation of warehouse storage and racking solutions for sites across the British Isles.

Each individually designed storage system is planned to suit each client’s unique operating environment: taking account of the goods being handled, the size and layout of their storage facility, making it easier for you to maximise the efficiency of your facility.

Once the installation is complete, our aftermarket service provides a full range of inspection, repair, replacement services and can be used to safely maintain and modify your layout as your business grows.

As internationally recognised importers, exporters and wholesalers of fabrics to all areas of the UK textile industry: Oddies Textiles Ltd stock over 200 regular lines of fabric consisting of 300+ print designs, that requires thousands of fast and slowmoving textile rolls.

This presents a major logistics challenge: storing and handling so many individual items, whilst maximising the use of their warehouse space.

The WP Group have supported the growing and changing needs of the Oddies business for many years, providing a wide range of warehouse racking and storage solutions.

Products installed: over some 15 years, WP Group have installed a variety of storage solutions, including fabric racks, pallet racks and mezzanine

flooring to greatly increase the original storage area of Oddies warehouse.

The Brief: Mezzanine floor solution with integrated fabric racking.

Oddies asked WP to replace an existing mezzanine floor, with purpose-built replacement mezzanine containing integrated fabric racks to create a heavy duty, high density upper-level storage area capable of holding 5,000kg per storage bay. A further requirement was to install this over and around existing ground floor fabric racks that were in continuous use.

In addition, WP were challenged to design a solution to reduce ‘lifecycle’ costs of ongoing maintenance and repair of the new installation and maximise available storage space.

The age of the building provided a further challenge, as the maximum height of the room changed in different areas of the building.

The solution:

The WP Group solution successfully met and exceeded the design brief, by addressing the challenges of the project requirements in several individual areas:

Design ingenuity and lifecycle costs

Integrated fabric racks were specified using Galvatite steel decks, to provide a strong, ultrasmooth surface; ensuring no snagging or tearing of any fabric being stored. The corrosion-proof Galvatite decks also eliminated bowing or bending that would normally occur from placing heavy duty fabrics on traditional wooden decks.

Load capacity

The WP Group design specified that the fabric racks were inserted into purpose built steel channels which spread load distribution evenly along the

racks (unlike racks fixed on baseplates) thus eliminating point loads in individual areas. In order to maximise storage capacity of the racks, the racking uprights were each individually sized throughout the building to follow the uneven contours of the entire warehouse roof.

Safety

The whole project was designed to achieve a minimum of one hour’s fire protection, in accordance with UK building standards; and the whole installation was designed so that the new mezzanine support columns were positioned inside the existing ground floor racks, to safely avoid interfering with the working aisles below.

Safe transfer of fabrics from the mezzanine to ground level was ensured by installation of an ‘up and over’ pallet gate, which creates a physical safety guard around the loading area of the mezzanine, and then a guard separating the operator from the pallet once it has been loaded to the pallet gate ready for removal from the mezzanine.

Storage equipment solutions

WP Group is a UK leading supplier of British-made warehouse pallet racking systems, and is renowned as specialists in mezzanine floor installation and industrial shelving systems. Equipped with an industry leading skillset, WP Group can design complete warehouse pallet racking solutions, to small parts storage.

One of its notable feats is its range of CE Approved charging lockers, which have been designed to provide a secure way of protecting and charging electrical goods in unsecured areas. From industrial tool batteries through to tablet devices such as iPads, mobile phones, laptops and cameras, the lockers are the perfect tool to protect and charge electronic goods.

“They are designed for use in a wide range of educational environments as well as offices/ workplaces, these lockers are effective at deterring the risk of opportunist theft and all of our charging lockers are available in a number of different sizes as well as different options for charging sockets. Their perforated doors allow items to charge without generating a buildup of heat, each door is independently earthed as well to prevent any safety risks,” added Colin Evans, Director. If you would like to find out more about WP Group’s range of charging lockers, please see details below:

The new alternatives in power conversion

Power conversion is commonly achieved through phase-angle controllers, transformers and power supplies. But these solutions can either damage heaters, or take up large amounts of space or make it incredibly hard to measure and control the power flow. Watlow’s power conversion technology solves these issues by providing the ability to bring voltage up or down smoothly without having to introduce a bulky power supply. Watlow temperature controllers, such as POWERGLIDE®, are capable of modulating the amplitude of the output voltage, allowing the voltage to step down from 208 volts to as low as 20 volts.

Lowering the voltage in this way is a great way to drive low-impedance heaters. It can reduce the power distribution rating with smaller fuses and wires, which saves money and space. It can also protect ceramic heaters from breaking. Watlow’s power conversion technology also achieves high power quality without the high cost and added space of a DC power supply.

Expo debuts

Hotel & Resort

Innovation

Expo made its debut for the first time under the management of multi-awardwinning, Fortem International and transformed ExCeL London from 19-20 October 2022 into the central hub for hotel professionals looking to capitalise on the growing market.

The Hotel & Resort Innovation Expo team made it their mission to provide visitors with the latest updates within the sector, including 300 hand-picked exhibitors from tools to enhance the guest experience, sustainability, and even the resources to tackle operational and marketing challenges. Industry experts across a range of topics brought over 30 hours of unmissable insights into the sector.

Hotel & Resort Innovation Expo teamed up with some incredible partners to bring visitors the UK’s leading business event innovating the hotel sector and the most comprehensive expo to date giving a focus on customer loyalty, data protection, hotel design, reputation, inflation, technology and all the tips and tricks needed to drive a hotel forward.

Industry revenue is expected to increase within the next 5 years at an annual rate of 26.9% and this significant increase within the hotel sector will reach £19 billion by 2026, making the Hotel & Resort Innovation Show the ultimate platform to capitalise on this growing market.

Power conversion is an essential element of many heating applications. Yet most current power conversion technology is not well suited to cases where heaters are fragile, have ceramic components, or have to ensure safe operation across the globe. No longer do devices have to be engineered around power quality issues. Instead, smooth, stable power changes are possible across a huge variety of outputs, and noise is reduced drastically.

Dustoff! Covers

Dustoff! Covers started manufacturing motorbike covers back in 1995.

Jon Ward was racing in British Superbikes and Club racing at the time so they came up with the obvious idea to make some covers for their racing Ducati. After further many trials and investigating we developed our breathable polyester fabric, which was much more suitable for the product.

As the covers became more popular with race teams, we decided to take a stand at the Ally Pally London Exhibition. This proved a great success, selling out our stock on the second day.

Since then Dustoff! Covers has made many thousands of covers, which are shipped to motorcycle owners all over the world. We have supplied covers to major manufacturers including Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Norton along with special designs for retailers and race teams – from Club racers to MotoGP.

Camping made easy: Offering the freedom to holiday anywhere

In this issue of Products & Services Review, we are delighted to announce Isabella as our Awning Manufacturing Company of the Month. Since the COVID-pandemic, camping and caravanning has boomed in the UK as part of the unprecedented summer staycation. One in five Brits took a camping or caravan holiday, according to market researchers Mintel. What’s astonishing, is that for 4.5 million of those, it was their very first experience in a tent or caravan.

A typical Summer British campsite is filled with caravans, motorhomes, tents and trailer tents, all enjoying the great outdoors. Trailer tents have gained in popularity, with new models featuring the latest technical upgrades and available in new, attractive colour ranges.

Camp-let was established in 1969 in Arnum, Syddanmark, Denmark by two brothers, Hans and Poul Nissen. The Camp-let products remain a renowned brand across the camping and caravanning world today.

In 2016, Isabella Group acquired the Camp-let business, who continue to produce in the same Arnum factory. Isabella has been a leading manufacturer of caravan and motorhome awnings, trailer tents, camping furniture and equipment and a full range of accessories since 1957.

Camping Magazine, part of www.outandaboutlive. co.uk has been Britain’s No.1 camping magazine for over 60 years. Editor, Iain Duff, chose Isabella’s new Camp-let North trailer tent as the best buy for 2022. With upgraded modifications, the integrated poles allow for a speedy set-up, leaving you more time to enjoy the great outdoors. The roomy living area and ventilated sleeping cabins are perfect family holidays, with additional sun canopies and annexes available as optional extensions. The robust isacryl canvas material makes this a serious long-term investment, retaining its value for years to come.

“The aim of the company is to offer an easy,

comfortable camping experience,” commented Nathan Leighton, Field Sales Manager at Isabella International Camping Ltd.

“Camp-let is a Danish word meaning ‘easy camping’ in English, and that has been the enduring motto since 1969. Not only this, it is very important to the company that the quality craftsmanship of the trailer is perfect. This is still apparent today, as they are each handmade by professionals with many years of experience. We are able to offer a repair service on the canvas with our in-house repair teams across Europe.”

The Camp-let trailer tents come in two models: North and Passion. The North-model as already highlighted, is incredibly user-friendly, with a quick, convenient set-up. The roomy 18m2 interior sleeps a family of four, with additional bespoke sleeping compartments or kitchen space available.

The Camp-let Passion is a luxury trailer tent, perfect for an enjoyable stay in the great outdoors. The identical 18m2 interior can be easily extended to accommodate up to eight people, adding an annex on either side. This ergonomic trailer tent has integrated dark curtains: guaranteeing a comfortable daytime interior climate, coupled with blackout features for a perfect night’s sleep.

One of the main advantages of a trailer tent over a caravan is its lower weight (on average just below 500kg), making it a perfect towing companion for all vehicles, even a touring motorbike! In strong winds, caravan motorists are advised not to drive, due to safety concerns and hairpin bends in the Scottish Highlands or Italian Eastern Alps are inaccessible for caravans.

The trailer tent is lightweight, easily manoeuvrable on tight bends and isn’t affected by strong, gusty British winds!

Isabella has road-tested Camp-let trailer tents towed with electric vehicles, checking safety and fuel-efficiency. Extensive tests have shown that there is negligible effect on electric vehicle charging capability. This is good news for electric car owners everywhere: now you drive an eco-car and continue to enjoy the great outdoors.

As mentioned earlier, the whole outdoor leisure industry inadvertently boomed during the COVIDpandemic, with many new Brits trying camping or caravanning for the first time, as Nathan elaborates, “Once the country was allowed some

more freedom, this is where our industry had a massive boost, as international travel was not possible, but people still wanted a holiday. Therefore, we had an influx of new users into the industry who may not have ever thought about camping before or thought camping was not for them. And despite the abroad holidays returning, people have found that the new freedom of having a trailer is unique: you can go on holiday virtually whenever you want.

“Our historical customer base has always varied from people who have had caravans previously and now want something easier and smaller to manage with towing and set up.

“We believe our current target audience is families with young children, that have enjoyed camping in tents previously, but now want the next step up with off-the-ground sleeping, cooking options, etc.

“We also cater to the outdoorsy/adventure people who like to cycle, walk, paddleboard, etc. This gives them a base where they can then go out to enjoy their hobbies. The additional extras that we can offer, such as bike racks, storage bags/boxes etc give the opportunity to take their hobbies with them and easily.”

For those die-hard caravan fans, reluctant to convert to trailer tents or those hesitant about its comfort or functionality, Isabella offers a ‘try before you buy’ scheme. Customers can hire the North or Passion model for a maximum of four consecutive nights. After the trial, if you would like to purchase a trailer, the price of the hire is refunded from the cost: terms & conditions apply.

Isabella will be launching a new trailer tent model at the Caravan Salon at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany from 26 August-3 September 2023.
