Join professors Lexi Con and Noel Edge (the Word Nerd and the Science Freak) for a thrilling voyage through the alphabet — where sesquipedalian words inspire mindblowing scientific surprises! It’s a tongue-twisting race from A to Z that’s equal parts explosive, messy, hilarious, fascinating and gross.
Brace yourself for an hour of carefully crafted alphabetical, scientifical (award-winning!) chaos — that floats, flies, squirts, sprays, ignites and erupts!

An immediate hit with critics and audiences, Coil is one of those rare productions: gobsmackingly clever in its execution whilst being funny, warm hearted and deeply resonant.
Blurring the boundaries of theatre and cinema, this innovative new work draws on our collective memories to pay tribute to the glory days of the video store and the communities we made within them. Coil reflects upon the joys, perils and pitfalls of nostalgia, and how we grapple with goodbyes to move on.
Creating new work at the very edge of video technology and live performance, re:group mash theatre and moviemaking together to create ‘live cinema’. Inspired by the highs and lows of pop culture, re:group aim to turn typically comfortable and passive viewing experiences into something immersive, irreverent, and inherently live.
Don’t miss this playful, one-of-a-kind live cinema experience.
“An astonishingly multi-layered, funny-sad eulogy… A must-see live cinema event” - Keith Gallasch, RealTime
“genuinely impressive… clever and more than a little bold.” - 4 stars Travis Johnson, Time Out

Burnie Regional Art Gallery
Situated in the city centre, the Burnie Regional Art Gallery venue is operated and maintained by the Burnie City Council as part of the Burnie cultural precinct and is supported by our corporate partners, the Friends of Burnie Regional Art Gallery and assisted through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts.
As a public gallery space within a multi-purpose arts centre, we do three main things: manage our collections, present exhibitions and, together with the other elements of the downtown precinct such as live performance venues and the Regional Museum, provide the cultural heartbeat of the city.

It’s a perfect, balmy night in the outback. A sleepdeprived camper, a cheeky quokka and an emu with a penchant for creating wild inventions, awake to discover that a koala has come down with a stubborn and earshatteringly loud case of the hiccups.
The three embark on an epic journey through the night that sees them frantically eat, sing and invent their way towards a cure before the sun comes up.
Hiccup is a hilarious rocking musical extravaganza about working together, finding friendship and how to, once and for all, stop the hiccups.

A double bill of two extraordinary dance works that revel in the capacity and endurance of mature women.
HandMADE is a beautiful and lyrical work by Tasmanian producer and dance maker Emma Porteus. Emma’s work embraces the globe from Tasmania to Finland. In HandMADE Emma draws on that global perspective, with a work that focuses on the way we experience the world through the bodies we inhabit.
Liz Aggiss’s MADE TO LAST is defiant, funny, and loud! It’s a work created by an artist at the height of her powers with established members of the MADE Ensemble. It’s witty, irreverent, fast-paced, and decidedly unapologetic.
MADE has been making remarkable and distinct dance/ theatre works with leading Australian and international choreographers since 2005.

Acclaimed guitarists Slava and Leonard Grigoryan have created a suite of music inspired by 18 objects personally selected from the National Museum of Australia’s vast collection, which traces our diverse and complex history.
This Is Us takes audiences on a journey from the deep past of early Indigenous Australians to the making of contemporary Australian society. The compositions are accompanied by highdefinition moving projections, with various artifacts including ancient 65,000 year old ochre of the Madjebebe rock shelter, a convict love token, a lifebuoy from the Tampa, and Sir Donald Bradman’s famed cricket bat.
Incorporating all their influences from classical to jazz and contemporary music, performed on a variety of guitars (electric, 8-string tenor ukulele, 12-string and classical), audiences will see and hear the Grigoryan Brothers like never before.
“We chose objects that try to represent some of our First Nations’ history as well as colonisation, migration, innovation and stories of love and loss. We were deeply moved by all of them.” – Slava & Leonard Grigoryan
