Diversity Week

AGS held its very first Diversity Week with a focus on LGBT+ History coinciding with Pride History Month. An exciting week where the whole School learned more about equality and diversity to support the LGBT+ community and become better allies through assemblies, workshops, library quizzes and more!

The KS3 Science Club had a great time making rainbows in measuring cylinders using acids, alkalis and indicators!

On World Book Day staff and students were invited to join our “drop everything and read” initiative. It was wonderful to see so many students (and staff) taking the opportunity to enjoy a story, bringing reading to the forefront.

Huge congratulations to Nathan (11Ph) for coming 24th out of 37,000 students in the Oxford University Computing Challenge.

A special mention also to students from Year 7 who were invited to join Round 1 of the Computing Challenge - with George gaining a merit! Congrats all!

Year 11 enjoyed an excellent day out to the British Library looking at Alexander the Great’s influence on African, Asian and European culture - piecing together an epic tale of 2,000 years in the telling. With lots of books from all over the world!
