We were delighted to welcome British artist, Corbin Shaw to AGS for a collaborative workshop exploring Positive Masculinity in Art.

Corbin is a British artist living and working in London, originally from Sheffield. Described as “an iconoclast afflicted with nostalgia,” Corbin explores ideas of masculinity through the medium of textiles. Known for his unique take on the St George’s cross, he has built a career and a brand using his personal experiences of growing up and finding his identity. Corbin has collaborated with brands such as Levi’s and Fred Perry and worked alongside charities such as Women’s Aid and Stonewall.

He presented an inspiring workshop to Year 8 students, with thought provoking questions, prompting meaningful discussions among students about how the use of art to express Positive Masculinity can be so impactful.

We were blown away when Corbin asked if he could return to AGS to present students with an incredible tapestry of their flags, carefully stitched together unifying their messages of positive masculinty - which is going to be included in an exclusive magazine project and short film!
