The AWA International Women’s Choir is a dynamic, truly international kaleidoscope of women. We sing both accompanied and a capella songs in English, Japanese, Chinese and Malay. We have singers and accompanists from six nations in the 2019-2020 season. Our favorite activity is to take our repertoire on the road, by singing at senior and hospice facilities around Singapore. Due to the current contagion,

we’ve had to suspend our outreach activities, and to improvise our rehearsal schedule, meeting in small groups at people’s homes, instead of as a full 20-person choir at a local church. We hope our musical spirit will be more contagious than the COVID-19 virus. Good music and companionship have helped us keep calm and carry on.

Lots of laughs are shared at every session and the opportunity to outreach with gifts of song to beneficiaries at local charities is a tremendous blessing to all of us. - Linda Auyong What is better than doing what you love and blessing others, which brings you joy? That’s exactly what we’re doing at AWA choir - a bunch of international ladies with the hearts to spread the joy with their special voice. Such a blessing! Such a joy! - Carol Lam

People who sing together, learn new music and words in languages we don’t speak at home, are bonding in a very special way. In the choir we make something together that’s bigger than any one of us, but that relies on each one in her turn. I’ve done one season so far with numerous heart-warming outreach events which culminated in a wonderful Holiday concert. - Anu Rudra I love being part of our choir; such a beautiful group of international women who have all come together for the love of music. - Nicole Gooding - Helena Antolin Cochrane
