Where the eleven months go?

Lions & Leos of District 1A:

Looking back, a year ago when I was sworn in as the District Governor of Mother District of Lionism, District 1A, I had a huge challenge in front of me. I was thinking that how I would fulfill all theseresponsibilitiesasagovernor in my district. Now, there is less

than a month remaining to complete my year as governor. It was lots of fun and meeting new lions throughout the State of Illinois. So many wonderful things to remember and cherish these lovely moments.

My favorite ones were club visits where I inducted new lions and installed new office bearers to our

clubs. I can’t even imagine some oftheclubsconducttheiractivities so religiously to benefit the needy in their communities. What great enthusiasm, volunteerism and love towards service. Now, as there is less than a month remaining to complete my lionistic years as a governor, I request all the clubs in our district to retain membership. We are doing an excellent job in increasing membership. Let us continue this trend of growth.

Last week we witnessed the induction of our governor elect Richard Moy to be our next governorforthe year2025-2026. I wish him nothing but the best. May all his dreams come true and shine like a star in the world of lionism.

I and First Gentleman Mike wish you all the Lions and the Leos of District1AandsayThankYoufrom the bottom of our hearts.

-District1A Governor.

Theeasiestwaytogainmembersis to have your club visible and provide service to those in need. Visibility will help your prospective member make an easy choice in accepting your invitation to join your club.

Governor Brenda is asking that each club do their best in adding members to your club this year. She would be honored to be sending in your applications for the club excellence award at the end of your successful year. One of the items needed is a plus two in membership. We have twenty-three clubs that have that itemcheckedoff.Theyjustneedto keep their members satisfied. A happy Lion never leaves a club…

We should all be working Together on membership

satisfaction!

This is the time of our Lion Year, you’re letting your members know about the dues renewal process of your club, each club handles it their own way. But all clubs should be making every effort to keep the Lions you have. Try adding members instead of replacing members for growth in your club.

If a member’s dues are paid for this year and are not returned. You drop them in good standing, notfornon-payment of next year’s dues. Do this beforeJune30th . Together we can strengthen our clubs. Stronger clubs provide more service. Clubs growing and providing more service, Strengthens our District and Lions International. Join me and except the challengeofMission1.5

Governor Brenda received a goal from LCIF of $54,045.00. This is based on membership at the beginning of the year. We are sittingatjustover$43,867whichis 81.00% of our goal. Let’s give a little bit more to LCIF to help our Governor reach her assigned goal. If each club donates $143 before the end of the year, we will make it. We are $9977.00 away from reaching our goals for the year.

LCIF helps our clubs do greater service. Support your Foundation and your Foundation will be there when you need to help with a project. You might need an Emergency Disaster Grant, a Standard Grant, or a grant related to our Global Causes.

Now is the time to plan your endof-the-year donations to LCIF. Remember recognition is running for about four to six weeks to have your Melvin Jones received to present at club installation and awards.

Hurricane Helene is currently impacting the southeastern coastline of the United States, particularly affecting Florida. Many homes have been damaged and numerous families are displaced. In the face of this humanitarian crisis, we, as Lions, are prepared to step in and help. Your generous donation to LCIF enables us to continue our vital work in these challenging times.
