rooke Stubbs, M.D. and owner of CYL Sauna Studio, combined her medical expertise and personal belief in holistic wellness treatments to bring Austin the benefits of a unique and trending healthy lifestyle practice: infrared sauna. Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Brooke knew she wanted to pursue a career helping people. Her pre-med journey began at Elon University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2006, and continued at Columbia University, where she completed a master’s in nutrition in 2009. With Wildcat pride in her blood, Brooke returned to her roots, receiving her medical degree and completing an internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Today, the local Austin resident, wife and mom to baby Sloane, has been practicing medicine for five years. Brooke is dedicated to using her professional experience to improve clients’ regular health and wellness routines at CYL Sauna Studio. Using far infrared therapy, a technique that produces the deepest, most detoxifying sweat, she provides clients with massive benefits including detoxification, pain relief, skin rejuvenation, lower blood pressure, and weight loss. Dr Angela Kelley ran the Austin half marathon at 28 weeks pregnant. These women are passionate about educating other women about their fertility and normalizing conversations about infertility, challenges to conception, fertility treatments, and miscarriage. The Aspire Fertility office is located on 38th Street in Central Austin. To meet increasing demand, the team has just opened a sister location in Bee Cave, conveniently located across from the Hill Country Galleria. ara is the owner and principal designer at BANDD DESIGN, a residential and commercial interior design firm that specializes in creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional. She believes the design process should be highly collaborative and feel uniquely authentic to each individual. Sara spent the first 15 years of her career working in the entertainment industry, as an executive at companies such as SXSW and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Always sitting at the intersection of creativity and business, her true love for design emerged after years of helping friends and family design their homes. A rare Austin native, Sara spent nearly a decade in sunny Los Angeles, where she met her writer husband, Dana, while they were both chasing the Hollywood dream. These days you can find Sara and Dana enjoying endless amounts of queso and college football with their two daughters. Sara has a degree in corporate communication from the University of Texas and a degree in interior design from the Interior Design Institute. She was named one of Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women Next Gen and is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers. When not interior designing, you can find Sara drinking rosÊ, wearing sequins, watching Seinfeld, trying to be a cool mom, and daydreaming about Napa.

T

he amazing women pictured here are at the forefront of emergency services and emergency medicine for Austin every day. With more than 120 years of clinical experience, not including their training, they have held down leadership positions, worked across the various hospital systems in Austin, and balanced clinical with full personal lives. Dr. Pamela Ashley has been both an assistant medical and medical director for more than half of her illustrious 20 year career in emergency medicine. She had the privilege of helping Dr. Carla Laos grow the second pediatric ED in Austin. Dr. Carla Laos, double boarded in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. She is currently one of the assistant medical directors for EMS and STARFlight, and she practiced pediatric emergency medicine at Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMD) prior to trekking north to help start and build Austin’s second pediatric ED at St. David’s Children’s Hospital. Ashley Voss Liebig, the division chief for clinical performance and education for Travis County Emergency Services/STAR Flight, served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne Division. She is a well known public speaker and is active in various international organizations promoting Free Open Access Medical Education (#FOAM). Dr. Jessica Rankin is a triple threat, boarded in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine (EM) as well as fellowship trained in emergency ultrasound. She is currently the assistant medical director for St. David’s Children’s Hospital pediatric emergency department. Dr. Adams, another double boarded pediatric EM physician, was the first female to hold the assistant medical director position at Children’s Hospital of Austin, the predecessor of Dell Children’s Medical Center. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, she has sat on the peer review committee for DCMC and continues to provide mentorship and wisdom for PEM physicians as medicine continues to evolve. Nipa Chagan rounds out our team of leading ladies as one of our city’s most clinically experienced pediatric NPs in the peds ED setting. With nearly 20 years of clinical experience, she was TeamHealth’s first lead pediatric advanced practice clinician (APC), and she was recently nominated for APC of the year with TeamHealth, which pulls from candidates across the entire United States.
