I am also a highly successful sales and marketing specialist, sponsorship procurement manager, and event manager which has seen me fund and manage training workshops through to large scale conferences. A networker and relationship-builder, I like being the ‘face’ of an organisation and have built an impressive network of key CXO’s and influencers throughout Australia. I believe this to be a crucial in whomever Roots and Shoots chooses to take on board. I also have extensive experience dealing with key stakeholders.

I take enormous pride in being a likeable individual who inspires a sense of loyalty to the organisations that I represent. I have always admired Roots and Shoots and the Jane Goodall Institute and would not only relish becoming part of the team but take enormous pride in representing the organisation.

Cannons Leisure – Head of Cannons Adventures From 1999 to 2006 I was Head of Cannons Adventures, the largest leisure activity club in the UK. Cannons Adventures was a loyalty and retention scheme of Cannons Health Clubs, one of the UK’s largest chain of health clubs. I devised, set up and launched the initiative. Cannons Adventures was exclusive to the 170,000 Cannons members throughout the 55 Cannons clubs in England, Scotland and Wales.

My role saw me managing a team of 10 staff who ran over 100 exclusive group adventures and holidays a year.

Crucial to our success was the network of volunteer 55 “ambassadors” that I set up and led throughout the UK. They championed our cause and not only raised awareness throughout our clubs but the entire UK health and fitness community.

The Sane Event Group – Business Development Manager Since 2010 I have managed the substantial growth of the Sane Event Group – Australia’s leading Event Management specialist.

Our company was founded in 1997 and specialises in managing Conferences and Incentive Holidays for some of Australia’s leading brands including Suncorp, TAL, Dymocks, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and ANZ Bank. Our company also specialises in events in the sustainability sector managing the conferences for clients including the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation and Energy Networks Australia.

My role not only sees me procuring new clients and partners and implementing growth strategies for their events but, crucially, it also sees me procuring sponsorship and funding for events. In general, we work on tripling funding within a 24 month period.

The Imaginative Traveller – Worldwide Sales & Marketing Manager The Imaginative Traveller are the pioneers of backpacking and youth group touring adventures in the world. Adventures include such trips as trekking in the Himalayas, sailing expeditions down the Nile by traditional felucca and treks to see the Mountain Gorillas in Africa. I developed and managed the worldwide sales and marketing strategy for the company for over 5 years.

This saw me developing key relationships with re-sellers and agents throughout the UK and worldwide and implementing training programs to optimize sales.

During my time with the company our turnover grew by 250%.
